I was visiting friends in my hometown for the Christmas holidays and decided to stay at Hotel 71.
The concern I have to stay in hotels that are build in refurbed heritage buildings is that too often, the rooms are small, ill-fitted and oddly shaped. Luckily for me Hotel 71 is has been smartly renovated from a Bank into a trendy and hip boutique hotel.
The room was comfortable and well equipped with the latest communications systems. Though small, the bathroom was elegant. I was on the third floor, which in Old quebec still meant I had some natural daylight, however would still recommend to aim for 4th or higher for the view of the city.
The italian restaurant is also quite trendy but the cuisine is delicious and authentic. It also served breakfast which was mainly continental but still enjoyable with some great coffee of course.
Overall a great hotel in a nice location in the heart of Old Quebec,
