“Loved the Hotel Sainte-Anne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

The Hotel Sainte-Anne in Quebec City is the perfect hotel! It is small, but classy, with the most wonderful, very helpful and attentive staff, plus the location couldn't be better. It's on beautiful Rue Sainte-Anne, which is right across the street from a lovely park, the fabulous Hotel Frontenac and the St. Lawrence Seaway. It has a restaurant on site and an outdoor cafe, but shopping and other cafes are on the same street, not to mention many more right around the corner. We absolutely loved it and would definitely go back to it again.

“Small room, but perfect location and excellent service”

My boyfriend and I recently spent two nights at Hotel Sainte-Anne and couldn't have been happier. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the city and the staff is amazing - they were incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived.

We were in room 208, a standard room, overlooking Rue Sainte-Anne. I was worried it would be noisy at night but we had no problems (probably 'cause the bed was so comfortable). The room was small but we were barely in it, so it didn't bother us. If you're staying longer and space matters to you I'd recommend booking a larger room.

“Very, very happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Sainte-Anne!”

My husband and I decided to take our two children to Quebec City for a three night stay at the end of the summer. We had never been, and were relying on different sites (including Tripadvisor) to figure out where to stay. Ultimately, we decided to stay at the Saint-Anne--even though there were some negative reviews on this site. We knew that the rooms would not be terribly large, so we decided to opt for two rooms, which worked out great. My husband and I had a very nice room with a brick wall. We were on the 2nd floor and we did face the street (which was nice). Our children stayed across the hall in a pretty spacious room with two double beds--their room did face a wall, but it was comfortable and clean.

The location just could not be more perfect, and even though you can walk to everything in Quebec, it really feels special to be on this particular street, with its cobblestones, street performers, artisans, restaurants and all right in front of the Chateau Frontenac. It was awesome!

A wonderful breakfast IS included--eggs, fruit, yogurt, croissants--generous portions and good service. The people who work in the hotel are friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience and we thought the price was quite reasonable for Quebec. We would definitely go back.

“Location, Value and Service. All brilliant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I booked this hotel a little blindly having known absolutely nothing about Quebec city and where was a good location to stay. This hotl is right in the heart of the old city, close to the Chateau Frontenac on a pedestrian street. There is NO noise in the rooms (admitedly ours was at the back of the hotel), the rooms are well appointed and although small have all the comforts that you would expect from a high class hotel. I was in a standard room.
One thing I should point out is that you might not want to share a room with a friend if you're here - there is a glass panel in the shower which looks into the bedroom, it's frosted so you can't see everything, but you can see enough if you're a modest person.
The staff at the front desk were warm and frindly and did all they could to ensure that we had a good stay. They remembered our names - which is always a charming touch, although possibly not impossible in a hotel of this size.
Breakfast was tasty and included in the price of the room.
Whilst my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we both admitted that the price was slightly higher than perhaps the room justified, given it's size.
The most important thing to take away though, I've already recommended the hotel to family and friends, and I would go back.

“Great location with dirty socks”

I recently visited Quebec City with my boyfriend. He is from Quebec City and we were there visiting his family and friends. We decided to spend a little extra money for a nice hotel and we chose the Sainte Anne. Its location is perfect, but the first thing we noticed when we walked in the room was a pair of dirty socks (that weren't ours) in the middle of the floor. As we continued to look around, we noticed the bottom of the air-condition unit had been taped but was hanging. Also, the wall behind the sink in the "toilet-room" was rotting. We told the receptionist and she made a note on our account, but when we checked out, there were no changes made to our bill but she told us the manager would call us. It has been 5 days, still no phonecall.

They say that breakfast is included, however, it's a $10 discount per person on breakfast, so you still end up paying $10-15 every morning for orange juice and tip. The receptionist was very helpful with helping us choose a restaurant and the waiters in the restaurant were efficient. The internet was terribly slow and the front doors were locked and no front desk staff 11pm-7am (you used your room key to access the building). There was often a line-up of people and phonecalls at the small front desk.

Overall, it was an ok hotel for a high price. But I guess people will pay big bucks for the location and they know that.
