Went to Quebec City over Thanksgiving holiday and decided to stay here. Location is very central, a few minutes walk to shops, restos, and sights.

The dormitory (on the 3rd floor for 4 people) was clean, spacious, as were the shower rooms/toilets on that floor. I actually bumped into the maintenance staff every day going about their duties.

I was struck by how big the hostel was - the cafe downstairs, the bar and the pool table beside it. Perfect for hanging out. Or you could just watch TV or surf the Web.

I loved that the hostel organizes activities, ranging from walking tours to pub crawls. I met a few people because of this and had fun. Staff were friendly, and answered my questions, called a cab to the airport, and other stuff.

Downside - Wi-Fi didn't work too well in my 3rd floor room.

Overall, this was the best hostel I've stayed in (as indicated in the title), and I've stayed in them in many countries. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in QC.

HI Quebec, is the perfect place to stay during your visit to Quebec!
This large, yet comfortable hostel, offers everything you need and want.
Staff were helpful and very friendly, rooms warm and spacious, and the bathrooms were ALWAYS clean! Great pressure in the showers, and has an enclosed space for changing.
Wi-fi is free- and can be accessed from rooms, although connection is sketchy sometimes... best to go down to the lobby with your laptop where the connection is stronger.
Big kitchen in the basement where you can store your own food and cook meals, and they also offer breakfast from 7.30-10am every morning. (i think its about $6- which includes options of toast, bagels, cereal, juice etc)

The location is perfect ,and is in walking distance of everything... although it only takes 20mins to get anywhere in Quebec!
I would definitely recommend this place.

This Hostel is a great place to stay at in Quebec City! Its right in the middle of the city...walking distance to every part of the city. Its also very inexpensive. The people at the front desk are very helpful.

Whether it be in the midst of Winter Carnival, or, mid summer, the people of Old Quebec are warm and welcoming. Much has been done to preserve the old city, which is the only walled city in the Northern Hemisphere! Wonderful restaurants, charming shops, and, winding streets enchant the visitor! I like to stay at the Auberge International at 19, rue Ste-Ursule in Old Quebec. The people here do everything to make your stay comfortable, the building is well taken care of, they have a bar and user friendly kitchen in the basement, and, they even have activities! A private room here is heaven and very affordable. You can walk to anywhere in the Old City, and, if you want to explore the huge outer city of Quebec, public transportation is also within walking distance. I highly recommend staying at the Auberge International!
