My partner and I stayed at Gite au Croissante de Lune for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this B&B.
The hosts (Rene and Louise) are friendly and welcoming. Rene was kind enough to show us where to find things in Quebec City on our map, and pointed out some unique and lesser-known highlights to see while in the City.
The location is excellent. It's on a small side street just off of Rue St. Jean, which is a much busier street that has all sorts of cafes, shops, restaurants, etc. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the walls of Quebec City and to all of the tourist sites. It's also quite close to the Parliament Buildings and to Grande Allee which has quite a few nice restaurants, patios, pubs, etc.
Breakfast, freshly prepared by Louise, was excellent. Each day we were given the choice between two options - one was always yogurt and a hearty bowl of fresh fruit; the other option changed daily (the first day we had bacon & eggs; the 2nd day we had crepes; and the third day we had french toast). Breakfast also included a variety of fresh breads, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit and coffee/tea and juice.
We stayed in the yellow room, and found it to have everything that we needed - a big, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, a good breeze (from the window and ceiling fan), a nice-sized closet with lots of hangers, plenty of towels, a couple chairs for reading, etc. The room was immaculately clean and tidy. There is one bathroom, plus a partial bathroom, shared between the three rooms of the B&B. I didn't mind the shared washroom, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
We didn't have any difficulty finding on-the-street parking, which was free because it was a weekend.
Overall, a great value!
