“Great Place to Stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon to Quebec City in July 2010. We were greeted by Rene who was kind enough to accommodate us by allowing us to check-in early because our flight arrived at around noon. The room was very clean, as was the rest of the house including the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The only small issue was that the rooms were fairly warm because of the hot temperatures outside.
Each day for breakfast we had different choices as to what we would eat. There was always fresh fruit on the table as well as tea, coffee and juice. The breakfast's there were delicious and left us feeling full for our morning ahead.
We would definitely stay here again if we were in the Quebec City area and have had no problems recommending it to anyone who would listen.

“Most recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2010

Best deal in town! My boyfriend and I booked this hotel on a lark after we decided to take a last minute trip to Quebec City for the Easter weekend. We quickly and easily found the hotel (watch out for the intersection with 4 streets going in different directions!) and got settled. The location cannot be beat. All along Rue St. Jean are quaint little shops and markets. It's a 5 minute walk to one of the gates. Louise's breakfasts are to die for. Especially her little pinwheel pastries.

The only downfall is that it is an older building with a shared bathroom. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend the "Blue Room" as it is right beside the bathroom, and I would get woken up in the middle of the night and early morning by other guests using the facilities (flushing the toilet, slamming the door, etc). The room itself was perfect, and the deck was great for enjoying a glass of wine before dinner.

I would certainly stay at this B&B again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

“Very pleased with this B &B!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

My partner and I stayed at Gite au Croissante de Lune for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this B&B.

The hosts (Rene and Louise) are friendly and welcoming. Rene was kind enough to show us where to find things in Quebec City on our map, and pointed out some unique and lesser-known highlights to see while in the City.

The location is excellent. It's on a small side street just off of Rue St. Jean, which is a much busier street that has all sorts of cafes, shops, restaurants, etc. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the walls of Quebec City and to all of the tourist sites. It's also quite close to the Parliament Buildings and to Grande Allee which has quite a few nice restaurants, patios, pubs, etc.

Breakfast, freshly prepared by Louise, was excellent. Each day we were given the choice between two options - one was always yogurt and a hearty bowl of fresh fruit; the other option changed daily (the first day we had bacon & eggs; the 2nd day we had crepes; and the third day we had french toast). Breakfast also included a variety of fresh breads, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit and coffee/tea and juice.

We stayed in the yellow room, and found it to have everything that we needed - a big, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, a good breeze (from the window and ceiling fan), a nice-sized closet with lots of hangers, plenty of towels, a couple chairs for reading, etc. The room was immaculately clean and tidy. There is one bathroom, plus a partial bathroom, shared between the three rooms of the B&B. I didn't mind the shared washroom, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

We didn't have any difficulty finding on-the-street parking, which was free because it was a weekend.

Overall, a great value!

“Quaint, delicious breakfast, excellent guidance for Quebec City”

This B & B was nestled near Old Québec, very close to one of the stone gates. We were able to walk to everything easily, and enjoyed doing so in the cold snowy weather. Accommodations were clean and cozy. René gave us excellent guidance to help us navigate the city. Breakfast was delicious and filling; and the breakfast camaraderie with other guests was interesting and pleasant.
