“Great Inn, Great Value, Great Location”

We stayed here for 3 nights over New Years, our friends stayed at the Frontenac and we spent New Year's Eve there, so we wanted to be close to them. The Chateau is right next door, about a block away. There's easy parking in a garage for 20$ CAD, which is not cheap but not horrible either. The Chateau is nicely decorated and very clean, our room was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, but that's not a big deal. Our room (#8) was small but adequate and had high ceilings, which made it feel larger. The bed was comfy and the bathroom, though also small, was clean and perfect for us. The breakfast wasn't elaborate (just coffee, juice, fruit, and muffins), but again, perfect for us since we ate huge lunches and dinners. The Innkeeper is very kind and showed us some places on a map that we should visit during our stay in Quebec.
Overall, I would recommend this Inn to someone who isn't looking for ultra luxury or lavish breakfasts, but wants a comfortable, clean, friendly place to stay in Quebec that is VERY reasonably priced (our queen room was just 125$ per night, before taxes) and in a great location (right next to the Frontenac).

“I Will Return Here Again, and Again, and Again...”

Fantastic experience! Beautiful and immaculate inn, charming and friendly owners, perfect location in old town! We stayed in #7, with a private balcony that overlooked the Chateau Frontenac and the water, it was our favorite part of our stay... It is absolutely impossible to find a better value in this beautiful city, and we will not hesitate to return.

No elevator, true, but we were helped with our bags. Small, yes, but we did not go to QC to spend it in the room and the size worked out just fine for a return after a long day, with a hot shower and comfortable bed. The muffins were great, and suited us fine, seeing as though we preferred to search out the best the city had to offer in its Parisian croissants and coffee :-)

Most importantly, I was looking for cleanliness, with the current bedbug issues plaguing North America, and I DID. The Chateau de Pierre is family owned and operated, and I knew that this would not be an issue, and I was correct. No problems at all. It was clean, comfortable, and what had kept me from going to NYC is what will keep me returning to QC!

Oh yes, the parking lot was perfectly located, and we used it as a drop-off point for shopping bags, etc. as it is in the heart of the old-town just a block from the inn... For the incredible rate the inn offers, we didn't mind paying for parking, which was minimal.

All-in-all, wonderful!

“A very comfortable intimate hotel with great location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

Our two-night stay prior to a cruise departure was thoroughly enjoyable. The very comfortable first floor room opened to a walled courtyard with a pretty little garden. We especially appreciated the personal service afforded by our owner-host Richard, who patiently helped with getting the most from our stay in the area. He also personally helped us get through a Delta delayed baggage problem.

The location is perfect – just across a small park away from the bustle of the Le Château Frontenac and a short walk to tens of charming restaurants in the upper city. Staying here was a memorable highlight of our vacation.

“Wonderfully Charming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

We stayed at Le Chateau de Pierre for our first wedding anniversary. We booked room number 7, which is on the third floor and has the balcony. It was our second time to Quebec City. The location was fantastic. The room was small but comfortable. We went out for breakfast every morning so only having muffins in the morning did not bother us. The only drawbacks were the tiny bathroom with only a shower and what seemed as paper thin walls. The staff was very accommodating and let us borrow an iron and ironing board. Everyone was friendly and it was nice to come and go as we pleased. If you enjoy room service and a staffed desk, look elsewhere. Great visit!!

Very helpful staff. No elevator but proprietor carried HEAVY suitcases upstairs for us. Helpful in locating restaurants, etc. nearby. Some small rooms, but very clean. Would go back again!
