We booked this hotel through Easyrez.com who showed about 25 very good reviews. There was a 43 dollar non-refundable deposit to be applied to the room charge. All the information on Easyrez is bogus. The place is far from tourist attractions, in a shoddy part of town, is without elevators and had shallow catacomb crooked hallways meandering to our room. My wife who had breast cancer three years ago followed by a stroke last year and has arthritic knees asked me not to stay and we requested to cancel. The clerk insisted we be charged for two nights and the deposit. We are now in the process of disputing all the charges as we were billed for it all. What a fraudulent operation by Easyrez and the hotel!

I stayed here with my mother (who is 60) and we both absolutely loved it! The location is amazing. It is located next door to the Chateau Frontenac, but of course it is much much cheaper. The room was very clean and it had windows which we kept open instead of using the AC (it gets cold out there at night). The only cons are: our room was on the 4th floor so we had to lug our luggage up there and the tv was fuzzy (but who really watches much tv when you're in such a gorgeous city). Also, for breakfast you get a $5 coupon per person for the restaurant L'Omelette, which is fantastic!! Definitely will stay here next time we come :)

Stayed only for one night and will not return.
Positives: Great location, clean sheets and bathroom.
Property needs major overhaul. It's an old house and not well maintained.
Dangerously narrow stair case with stairs in disrepair (repaired with plywood).
Small, stuffy room adequate for one but not two queen size beds.
Dirty windows, a very laud window ac unit located next to one of the beds.
Soft, squeaky mattresses, very uncomfortable (sleepless night).
Public parking several blocks away, difficult to get to and does not accomodate large vehicles (Ford F 250)

This hotel is located in the perfect spot - right next to the Château Frontenac in the heart of Old Quebec City! My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel twice. Once in October 2006 and again in September 2008. The first time we stayed on the second floor with a beautiful view of the garden across the street and the St. Lawrence river. The second time we stayed we should have paid more attention to where the room was when we booked it. Our room was in the attic on the fourth floor. This hotel is over 170 years old so its all stairs! It was very roomy but the small shower had a mind of its own. Sometimes it was too cold or too hot. They gave us a croissant and some juice the first time we stayed but the second trip they gave us both a $5 certificate for L'Omlette for each morning of our stay. There is no on-site parking so we parked in the parking structure (about $12 per day) a few blocks down and walked wherever we needed to go. All sightseeing is within walking distance anyway so there is no need for a car during the stay. The price and location were perfect for what we were looking for. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel then you should stay next door.
