My boyfriend and I just got back last night from a 3 night, 4 day trip from Quebec City. We stayed at the Grande Allee the whole stay. This hotel is so quiant and perfect! Dont expect to be staying at the Hilton. If you want "the whole eurpoean experience" stay here. The service was great, the breakfast was good for free...what do you expect when its free? The room was always clean by the time we got back in the early afternoon as well.
I recommend this to anyone who wants to think outside the box and wants the complete opposite from the Hilton experience. 2 thumbs up!!

Stayed 2 nights at the Chateau Grande Allée. Very satisfied. Polite staff. Breakfast OK. Close to everything in the old Québec. Will go back for sure.

My wife surprised me with a short trip to Quebec City to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel was recommended by our travel agent who had stayed there before recent renovations. Located in an older 3 story walk up. Narrow halls and stairways feature old wood mouldings and what appear to be the original doors and trim. Blends right into the charm of old Quebec City.
The room was quite cozy and quaint with wood floors, exposed brick facade on some of the walls. The room had a three piece bathroom with a separate two person tub in the bedroom.
A great location on Rue Grande Allee just 500 m from the old city wall. The district is surrounded by several restaurants and patios.

We recently stayed at this hotel. Nobody tells you about the 8 foot disco ball that hangs outside a very popular bar. The rooms were sufficiently soundproofed but the disco lighting was slightly annoying. The service was efficient and pleasant. The room was spacious and well appointed although the outside traffic was disturbing at time. The continental breakfast was disappointing I recommend you eat elsewhere on the strip.
However , even though you are situated outside the wall of Quebec City everything is within close walking distance.
Couples looking for a great nightlife, this would be the place to stay. Just by walking across the street you are right in the heart of partyville!
