“Beautifully updated hotel inside the wall”

My family of 4 stayed at Manoir Victoria for 8 nights during the Winter Carnival. We got a great deal on Splendia. Our room was very spacious and was within walking distance of everything! Two drawbacks: The first is that if you can't walk up/down stairs, you are out of luck. There are at least 20 stairs from the front door to the lobby level and they aren't allowed to install an elevator because of they are an historic building. The second is their restaurant only has about 10 items on the dinner menu and they only offer spaghetti for children. Every room has a mini bar with space in the fridge for personal items. The best part is the LOCATION. We did not have a car and walked everywhere. There are TONS of great restaurants all around and directly on either side of the hotel are a pharmacy and a grocery store. McDonald's is right on the corner for the times when our kids were tired of fine dining. Ice skating is only a couple of blocks away and the carnival is only a 15-20 minute walk. They were renovating the lobby while we were there so it should be finished by now. They arrange bus transportation & tickets to the ice hotel, skiing, etc. The bus to ski is $30 pp. If you have more than 2 people, you may want to rent a car for the day from Hertz (2 doors down). They also sell the carnival effigies. They have a nice indoor pool and spa as well. We would definitely stay there again.

“Charming, friendly and a pool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was a gem in the old city. I booked it online via bookings.com and got a great price. The best part of our trip was Bernard. He was the most kind, helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable person I've ever met at any hotel. I just loved talking to him and asking questions and practicing my rusty French. Take the recommendations for restaurants. They were exactly what we wanted - though prices were painful; so be prepared to drop a few bucks on dinners.

“Great stay close to Ski Mont-Ste-Anne close to restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

For the last 2 years we spend 2 nights and 3 days there. We drove to Mont-Ste-Anne to ski for a day than come back to hotel, swim in a pool, warm up in sauna, walk to a restaurant and have dinner there.

“Good value hotel centrally located in Old Quebec”

We caught the train from Montreal and made the walk up the hill from the train station. I was travelling with my 66 year old mother and with a few stops, she made it up the hill. Our room overlooked cafe Paillard on rue Saint-Jean. The room was a generous size and appeared to have been recently renovated. The hotel had a nice vibe to it, with period decor. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had breakfast at the hotel a few mornings and it was good value (purchase the vouchers from the front desk and they were cheaper than buying direct from the restaurant). The hotel is close to all the tourist attractions. Definitely recommend cafe Paillard for either lunch or dinner...great value and fresh food.

“good value, great location”

Very friendly and helpful to out-of-town travelers, this hotel is situated in perfect placement on the cobblestone streets of Old Quebec. Near lots of great restaurants and walking distance to the Convention center. Also, if you are looking for top restaurants away from the tourist areas - you can walk about 15 min both downtown (downhill) or further west on St. Jean. Rooms were clean and large.

Room Tip: One side of the hotel is along a main/busy tourist street (Rue St. Jean). If you are early to bed y...
