“Good service, fine place”

I stayed with my 9 yr. old daughter last weekend. The front desk staff was extremely cordial, helpful and completely bilingual which was impressive because it seemed to be most all French speaking Canadians staying there. The easy and free parking was nice. The location worked for us as the malls and coffee, restaurants, businesses were right across the street. We just took the easy ride to the walled city and parked in a centrally located garage very affordably to enjoy Old Quebec each day. The outdoor pool was a plus for my daughter (although frigid). The continental breakfast was bare bones but got us on our way to enjoy our day without needing an expensive starvation breakfast/brunch stop. Some fresh fruit, pastries and simple added choices would have made it much better. The room was passably clean but not sparkling. My one complaint would be the air condition unit which was functional but so noisy with a rattle and buzz that you had to choose between sleep and coolness. Time to replace! It was reasonable in rate during high season. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for 3rd or 4th floor....WAY better than 1 (the basement) or 2 (main floor) where breakfast diner...

“Great Hotel in Ste. Foy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

This is a small hotel- 3 floors on the main street in Ste. Foy. We arrive by train and take a taxi to the hotel. It is within walking distance of a huge shopping mall and the tourist shuttle bus that takes you to the old part of town (one ticket is good for the whole day). The people in the hotel are very friendly and helpful- it does help that I speak French. They serve a nice continental breakfast- cereal, toast, bagels.fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea. It is self serve- you can eat as much as you want. During the day the eating area is available to use, if you want to buy something from the store- they will let you use the microwave to heat things up or pop popcorn at night. We had 2 girls with us and the rooms were spacious enough with reasonable rates. There is an outdoor pool. We enjoy this hotel so much that we have returned there 5 times. The rooms open up onto the eating area on the first floor so the third floor is the quietest. The hotel is recessed from the street- so we didn't find street noises at all.

Room Tip: try to get the third floor.

“Clean & Quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

This is a lovely hotel which is well situated, clean and quiet. It is not close to Vieux Québec but quite accessible by shuttle, bus or car. It also has many restaurants and a shopping mall nearby. The rooms have modern furnishing, simulated hardwood and ceramic floors (which is wonderful for those who suffer from allergies) and firm mattresses (if you like firm, these are firm). This hotel does not offer a view but it has a decent outdoor pool and an indoor/outdoor parking at no additional cost to guests. I would like to mention that you should double-check your reservation because I was under the wrong impression that I was paying the same rate for both nights but I did not pay attention to the fine print ... the rate was higher for the second night . In addition, you should be warned that they are very strict with their check out time. We ran late by 20 minutes and they called our room to remind us that check out is 11:00 am not 12:00 noon. The only other comment I would like to make regarding this hotel is that they required full payment upon check-in which might offend some guests.

Room Tip: Double check your reservation - room rate may be different on second night.

“Surprisingly great stay in comfortable, completely renovated room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

We had had previous relatively good comments about this hotel so we went there a whole sports team for a local tournament and we were all very pleased with the hotel in general, and especially with our individual rooms.

All rooms were completely remodeled with modern and efficient furniture, floating floors, large LCD, modern lighting. Very impressive for the price. Free wifi internet access, parking is included (outside or underground garage - must be very appreciated in the winter time). Continental breakfast included, although abit basic (bagels, sliced bread, cereals, fruits, coffee, juice).

The hotel is conveniently located at the entrance of Quebec City. It's a 10-15 minutes drive to the Old City area. On the upside, there are numerous hotels and restaurants in the area, many family-friendly. There also is a lot of shopping to be done around, including a very large shopping mall within a short walking distance.

The hotel has a convenient laundry room, and an outside pool, which is great for nice summer days.

When choosing your room, please take note: the 2nd floor is the lobby level, where the Atrium is, and where breakfast is being served. If you're going to be on the 2nd floor, it may be abit noisy at breakfast time. The 1st floor is at the parking garage level. The view (back of the hotel) may not be as nice as the upper floors. You will most likely want to be on the third or fourth (last) floor.

The booking process for our team went absolutely well and staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back there.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the third or fourth floor

“Well-located & comfortable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

This is a great location if you want to do things outside of the old city of Quebec. It is across the street from the huge Laurier Mall, which is down the street from two other malls. There is a huge supermarket a few blocks away. Very easy access to the highway if you are heading to Montreal, Ile d'Orleans, or anywhere else in or out of the city. All buses stop within feet of this hotel. There are numerous restaurants within a block or two. Free breakfast with nice breads and name-brand cereals. Room was a good size, large bathroom & modern decor. Laundry facilities. Pool is outdoors & is open only in good weather. Enclosed parking garage. ATM may not accept cards from USA. No business center. Helpful staff. I would stay here again if I did not want to stay in the old city.
