The cover is really nice. The lobby, chic and modern, the cool, tiled elevator plays funky lounge music and the common spaces are uber urban. Sounds promising so far right? Then you open the room and say, ok, not so bad until you notice that the carpet in the room is more worn than the carpet in the hallway so you decide to keep your shoes on as you walk to the bathroom to wash your hands.
You push the lonely minuscule bottle of body lotion to get to the little soap and notice that the melamine covered counter has funny stains on it and sort of bunches in the corner. Funny, but it's ok you think as you use the toilet. As you sit you notice the mildew stains along the tub where there should be white caulking and debate whether you really want to take shower in this tub.
But you are concerned with the amount of work you have to do so you set yourself up in the corner desk and turn the tv from 1998 on for some background noise as you try to fit all your documents and laptop on this small corner desk. A couple of hours go by and you start to feel hungry. You take a break to look out the large window in the room and notice a plethora of restaurants within just a few metres of the hotel. Great, no need to take the car!
So you decide on ribs but eat too much and go back to the room. Well, with such a full belly, you decide no more work will be done as you fall back on a very comfortable queen bed and lay your weary head on those terrible feather pillows that serve absolutely no purpose because they become flat as a pancake when you lie on them. After watching The Big Bang Theory, you decide you will just wash at the sink because you don't trust the cleanliness of the tub and try to get a good night's sleep on the comfortable bed and lousy pillows.
You set the alarm early, and just before you put your feet to the floor, you look for your shoes to walk to the bathroom so your bare feet do not touch the floor. You get ready, pack your things and head for check-out. Good thing you gave yourself some time because check-out takes 15 minutes because there is only 1 man at the post and you are 3rd in line. But that's ok, you think, even though the hotel is ideally located near malls, restos, major highways, you will not be back to this hotel. The End.
