The Chateau is absolutely in one of the very best locations in Quebec City. The Hotel Frontenac is literally behind the building. The owners/operators run another hotel about 1 1/2 blocks away and were more than accomodating to get us into the Chateau and settled. They also recommended restaurants, grocery, internet cafe, etc that were exactly what we needed and had expected.
Regrettably, the unit we had #2, was not exactly 'fantastic'. The photos that they have of the room are exactly what you get, so there are no surprises there. Regrettably, the room had quite a musty smell, and we soon learned it came from the aged sofa. There are no covers on the windows in the bathroom, which is sort of odd when you are unaccustomed to such. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were fine. The blanket was icky (we would not use it). The kitchen was all we needed and more - refrigerator, coffee maker, sink, stove with oven and microwave. The room was tidied up and new linens put out while we were touring the area. We did ask for one more top sheet to use as a cover for the sofa, but it never appeared.
All in all, it was really kind of quaint to stay in such an old building right down in the middle of everything. We just think next time we might save some $ and stay at the hotel that the owner/operators have just a few steps away.
Quebec City was just too nice for words...there is no city in N.America that clean, we don't believe! And the people were so nice. It was a terrific stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We had a basement apartment, which was quite dated...the decor and the furniture was old. But everything was very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped and everything worked well. Sasme with the bathroom - the shower was a little temperamental, going hot and cold now and then but then you get that in much posher places.

The best thing about this apartment was the location. It in in the historic are in the Upper Town and is just one block behind the Chateau Frontenac, meaning its just a few minutes walk from the Terrase Dufferin, the Funiculaire (cable car) and the Citadelle.

Our apartment represented great value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

Great central location in Vieux Quebec and charmful interior. The kitchen and bathroom need some investment and the beds just need to be replaced.

Chateau Haldimand (also called "Le Petit Chateau Haldimand) is an small apartment-style hotel on Haldimand street in Old Quebec City. It is one block behind Chateau Frontenac. It is in an amazing location for sight seeing and visiting Old Quebec. Chateau Haldimand is full of character and has been kept up nicely. Our suite had a full kitchen, dining room, living room with a hide a bed, bathroom and two small bedrooms. We had pretty much everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Noise within the apartment traveled, but noise from outside was minimal (we were there at the same time as the St-Jean Baptiste festivities and had no problem with noise). I travelled with a friend of mine and our two young children. The hotel accomodated us by providing two playpens for beds and a high chair. The suite was clean and cleaning staff were friendly. To register for the hotel, you will have to go to another nearby hotel which is within walking distance. We were pleased with the service. I will definitely plan to stay at the Chateau Haldimand again. We truly enjoyed our stay.
