“Good Value, Great Hospitality in the Village”

This was our first trip to Montreal and we found La Loggia through TripAdvisor. We were very pleased with the experience. La Loggia is located on the edge of the Village in Montreal, within walking distance of a number of restaurants and attractions, most importantly the Berri UQAM metro station just a few blocks away, which then opens up access to the rest of the city.

Rob and Joel are gracious hosts and will engage you as much or as little as you want over the traditional European-style breakfast in the back garden. We found our conversations with them to be as entertaining and memorable as any sight seeing we did in Montreal. They were always ready with a restaurant or travel recommendation, but would also happily discuss politics, art, economics and culture with us as well. What fun!

One more note on customer service. One night, we found that the lock on the front door to our room was no longer working. Rob quickly provided us with an alternate key to the back door and then had the lock changed first thing the next morning. He could not have been more accommodating and quicker to respond to our need.

Highly recommended; would return.

I have stayed at La Loggia the last 6 times I have been in Montreal and plan on staying there for the next 100 or more. The attmosphier Rob and Joel have created is more than over the top. Breakfeast of fresh fruit, fresh toasted bread , local cheese and fresh local eggs on the outside deck with a strong cup of coffee...The Best way to wake up.The rooms are more than clean. The owners of the guest house are more than happy to go out of there way to make sure you have a good time in Montreal......I'll Be Back

“Great, Affordable Place to Stay in Montréal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

I actually found La Loggia through TripAdvisor - and I was not disappointed! It was actually my first time choosing a B&B in North America, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go. But the hosts were great and the location could not be beat - just a few blocks away from the Berri UQAM metro stop, which basically connects you to the rest of the city.

The breakfast was incredibly delicious - the fruit, the cheese, the eggs. The hosts even got me a cereal that met my dietary requirements since I couldn't have their normal offerings. I had been to Montréal before, so I didn't need to pack as much in as a first-time visitor, so the hosts were also able to give me some great suggestions on other things I should check out. It was great having free wifi so I could easily research these recommendations and go!

Since it is a restored older building, sound travels easily - so you can easily hear the comings and goings of other guests, and they can hear yours, as well. If that is a problem for you, you may want to consider other accommodations - or bring earplugs.

“Terrific B&B in Montreal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

Great hosts, suggestions from Rob were spot-on with our experience. The location of the B&B was ideal, walking distance to the Bixi biking system (wish every city had this system), Metro, great restaurants and still had a neighborhood feel, not touristy. Attention to organic, healthy and dietary foods at breakfast made this the perfect spot for us. Located on a busy street, but the noise never became a factor and we had a street-side room. Plenty of room to store clothing, leaving the suitcases out of the way. Rooms were comfortable, bed was just right. Refrigerator, glasses, ice and local phone were all available, like having the comforts of home. Loved the whimsical art! While it does have a wonderful private garden in the back for hanging out in the afternoon, sipping a cup of tea or sharing a glass of wine if traveling with friends, it doesn't have an inside option. Plenty of local restaurants can fill that need however.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with friends, the rooms without baths are on the same floor that shares the...

“excellent bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We stayed for 6 nights and found La Loggia to be ideal. Comfortable rooms, beds with soft mattresses and good bed linen, wooden floors with rugs, good showers, breakfast with fresh fruit salad, delicious bread and jam. Very comfortable but also quirky and interesting with paintings and sculptures all around. Great yard/deck with exotic and local plants, chairs and loungers. Rob, one of the owners ( we didn't meet his partner), and Lauren, housekeeper, were really pleasant, helpful and full of interesting information and conversation. Good location in the village, close to metro system. We stayed while attending a conference and they were nice rooms to come back to after a days work. Good place also for tourist visits.

Room Tip: Garden room has door into lovely yard.
