Ok, to set expectations it is a hostel but for my money it is an awesome hostel. Very clean. Staff are fantastic and relaxed. On site bar and free breakfast in the morning. A great place to stay. I want to go back.

This is a great hostel! The rooms are nice and clean! Dorms with ensuite, awesome! The kitchen is cute, breakfast is included, computers with internet are provided, staff is very relaxed, helpful and friendly! It's just perfect! What else should a traveller ask for!? Good job guys!

I chose this hotel for my fourth trip to Montreal, with two friends, in Feb. 2010.
Location is decent - One block north of the Berri metro station, right behind the bus terminal. Located just off the Latin Quarter, the hotel is three blocks east of rue St. Denis, which has fabulous resteraunts, pubs, bars and shopping. The area around the hotel isn't the most lively, but if that's what you're looking for, shell out double the price to stay downtown.
We stayed in the Family Private room, which had two double beds and a pull-out sofa bed. It was clean and comfortable. There was a mini fridge in the room, which is very convenient for keeping liqour, snacks and left-overs from meals!
What made this hotel different than any of the others I have stayed at in Mtl is the atmosphere. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and will accomodate you in whatever way they can. It is a backpackers hotel, so the clientelle was mostly young travellers, such as ourselves, and we met some great people to hang out with!
The only drawback was that the walls are paper thin, and if someone is having a party it can get pretty loud.
I would strongly reccomend this hotel to young-ish travellers who are looking for a fun, safe and affordable place to stay.

* DO NOT STAY ON BASEMENT SUITES - GO FOR HIGHER FLOOR

I stayed there for a week. First night, i stayed at private room on basement suite,
it was so terrible that i had to change a room to stay in 2 bed dorm and pay extra.
private rooms are just a nightmare.
First, there is a terrible smell inside the room because of the toilet i presume
and second, bed sheets don't seem so clean.
Do not book for private rooms that are on basement, you feel trapped.
It is a bit pricey for 2 bed dorm if it is only for 1 person but it is so worth it.
i stayed at 2 bed dorm where i had to pay for two beds even if it was only for myself, to book the room.
staffs are ok, they are friendly.
