Novotel Montreal Airport is a very nice and very cozy the moment you step into the lobby. It's a very modern and of course it has a European feel. The price is right even when you book it on the hotel's website. It was a little less than a hundred dollar per night for a king bed room. You get free WIFI, a nice roomy shower, and quite a spacious room. The design of the room is modern and doesn't have a weird odor. In general, this is a very pleasant hotel and I will definitely go back. The staff in the front desk and the waiters in the restaurant are helpful and easy to deal with. The few things which it can work on are the price of the breakfast buffet which is a bit much. For that reason, it's better to order the à la carte menu. Also, the water of the pool is way too cold. The whirlpool is fine but really the temperature of the pool can be raised a little bit. Another thing, this hotel is not exactly right next to the airport. It's about ten to fifteen minutes to the airport, depends how fast you drive. Yes, it's a little out of the way but the good thing is that you get to enjoy the tranquility without having an airport right next to you. If you are going downtown, it's about fifteen to twenty minutes with no traffic. Nowadays with the traffic in Montreal, I would suggest you park your car near a subway station and take the subway to downtown. It's much more easier.

The Rooms are generous and new, the staff is friendly and helpful. The only two drawbacks are

1. The Brekafast buffet is outrageously priced (which is usual for chain hotels)
2. It's in the middle of nowhere unless you work near the airport.

Stayed at the Novotel YUL to take advantage of their parking (free parking for up to 2 weeks) at the great deal of 99$ booked via the Novotel website. This was my second stay. Friendly check in, nice big room with king bed, LCD TV (limited channels though), free wifi, the funky decor, with nicely appointed bathroom. Used the pool in the evening although i thought it was rather cold and given it was the evening, there was some litter left from the previous users strewn about; the jacuzzi was nice and warm. Good gym equipment also available, with treadmills, bikes, and cross trainers, and weights.

As with my last stay, it is the front desk staff that drive the shuttle to the airport, in a timely manner. And with my last stay, given there was only one desk staff on duty on my return, was offered to take a taxi with refund, which is nice, but taking a taxi from YUL is painful, given the short distance involved and the drivers with attitudes which will scowl at you and make all sorts of detours to make some more money. However, the clerk on duty did reimburse me politely and promptly (thanks!).

Don't expect much in the area, this is a rather industrial area, so you will have to drive to Boul des Sources to hit the restaurant area (lots of choice, very Indian and Lebanese/Arab)

Overall, a great deal.

This was a nice hotel. Very modern very comfortable bed. The indoor swimming pool could have been warmer but was still ok. Nice hot hot tub.
The bathroom doors in the hotel room are nice and modern but don't allow for much privacy. The door faces the bed and are not sound proof - could be uncomfortable for some.
