“Booked over the phone and was later told there are no rooms available”

I booked this BB over the phone for the 1 overnight stop in Montreal. While driving to Montreal in Ontario province I got a call from the host saying the room availability was a mistake and there are no rooms available. As a solution, host gave a phone number of another BB that likely had a room available. Calling the number couple of times wasn't successful because nobody picked up. We came to the BB anyways hoping to get at least an internet access and a local phone to book another BB. We found that host didn't leave at the destination and I called back the host saying I can't reach this another BB and the host said she'll reach the BB herself and call us back. As you guessed, she never called us back. Luckily for us, Mr. Simone on the neighboring street had the last room available and we only spent an hour or two finding a replacement.

I wouldn't be so sad if the host called us back and helped booking another BB because we only had 1 night in Montreal.

“Quaint and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

This is the first time my husband and I have stayed in a bed and breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. We are seasoned travelers but have usually chosen a hotel or resort. What a pleasant surprise it was. First of all the home is old and the interior is antique with its wooden floors, high ceilings and decorative moldings. The owners, Robert and Natalie make you feel so at home with their warm smiles and pleasant conversation. Robert greeted us and even though we arrived at night, he was there to greet us and help with our bags. Every morning was a delight as we sat around a large table that can accommodated twelve people, most of which are from different countries. It's amazing how you can communicate even though you don't speak the same language. Natalie served the most lovely breakfast and every morning was different. The presentation of the food and the taste was outstanding. Even on the weekend when Natalie takes a much needed break, Indiana steps in and cooks a great breakfast as well. The homemade jams, fresh juice, hot coffee or tea and three coarse breakfast is by far the best reason to stay here. Other great reasons include, the subway (Metro) is at the end of the street, St. Denis street is a short 10 minute walk where you will find the best restaurants around including bring your own wine. So if you are considering this bed and breakfast you will not be disappointed. Thanks Robert and Natalie for a delightful stay !

“I highly recommend this B & B.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

This is an ideal place to stay. Nathalie and Robert speak good English and are wonderful hosts, providing a warm, comfortable atmosphere. My charming room was large with every amenity provided, including special soap, a good shower, a fridge, dishes and a TV. I stayed for a whole week and every day the breakfast was delicious. Nathalie is a wonderful cook and can help you with information about where to go in Montreal. The location is excellent: very safe and within walking distance of lots of interesting places and very close to the Metro and the bus station. I intend to stay here whenever I will be in Montreal in the future.

“Wonderful stay”

Upon arrival at the B&B, I was afraid I had made a mistake. Luckily I had brought the phone number as there was no one there when we arrived. Robert gave us the code to get in, told us where our room was, and said Natalie would check us in later. We walked in to very steep stairs. Once up, it was very quaint and cozy. We had a nice room at the back. It had a private bathroom. We had access to a rooftop patio, which was nice in the evenings to have a glass of wine. It was so quiet that we thought we were the only ones staying. Imagine our surprise in the morning when the breakfast table was full of other guests. We met delightful people from Canada, France, and the U.S. The breakfasts were amazing, always 3 courses which were presented artistically and were delicious. We were given suggestions as to where to go and events that were taking place in Montreal during our stay. There was a computer if you needed to check email. By the end of our stay, I was grateful for having found this B&B, as it turned out to be in an excellent location walking distance to everything and a great experience.

“Incredibly friendly service and fabulous breakfast's.”

We had a great stay with very friendly hosts that were willing to offer tips, advice, time and extra effort on all the above. The food was plentiful and very good. Best eggs we've ever had. Location was walking distance to everything and in a good and safe area. Would recommend to anyone. Hosts have also spent money to upgrade some of the rooms and add ensuite bathrooms as well. Can't wait to go back.
