“Good Breakfast - poor planning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We enjoyed our breakfasts, as they were gourmet and ample! There was poor planning / communication ahead of time, as they had arranged with us to leave a key for us, since they would not be home when we planned to arrive. However, when we arrived at the agreed on time, we were locked out! This posed a real problem as we were to attend a family event that evening, and had to drive to a relative's home in order to shower and change and be ready for the evening event. They didn't seem to be able to accommodate our flight arrival, although it was in the afternoon.
My husband and I generally enjoy some private time at B&B's during breakfast, and although she is very friendly, we missed being able to enjoy a quiet breakfast together without having to socialize with our host. But this is a personal preference that others may not necessarily share. She is a gourmet cook and the food was always a treat!

We appreciate all the feedback our guests give us and consider any recommendations they may have in order to improve our service. In this case, we take issue with the pertinent information that is missing or misrepresented. We would never "lock out" our guests and in fact go to great lengths to make our guests feel welcome when they arrive and throughout their stay. The flight arrival time was not an issue.
As for the privacy at breakfast, it is a delicate balance between "hosting" and "intruding" and we apologize for any lack of awareness in this regard.

“Fantastic Bilingual B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Josee & Reno run a super clean & spacious B & B in a central Montreal location. For a very reasonable rate, one gets private bathroom use, super comfortable mattress (es), incredibly delicious & ample hot breakfasts, free parking, and best-of-all, a super quiet birds-in-the-background good night sleep! There is also a common room with computer & t.v. provided!
Highly recommended. Josee is most accommodating and a gourmet chef! Merci beaucoup!!

“A little gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

Le Kensington was a great place to rest my head after a long day sightseeing in Montreal. It's on a quiet street without loud city noises and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Besides the homey feeling, the cleanliness, and the welcoming of the two owners, the big breakfast in the morning by professional chef Josee was totally worth the trip! We had french toast, omelets, fresh fruit, homemade baked goods, etc. I would highly recommend staying here!

“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We were looking for a B&B in the area in which we grew up, and had had the good fortune to meet Josee at a pub in Ottawa a couple of years previous. Le Kensington proved to be a pleasant B&B in a pleasant home! Nothing was lacking in the four nights we stayed, and the breakfasts were excellent - something hot each morning. Josee, thanks for a delightful stay!

“Great, quiet place to stay”

Le Kensington is a lovely place to stay in a quiet neighbourhood in Montreal with easy access to downtown. The rooms are spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable and bathrooms modern. I slept so well! Josee graciously accommodated our need to leave early in the mornings to attend meetings. The breakfasts were delicious, prepared by Josee who is a trained gourmet cook! What more could you ask for! We've been back already and will stay there again on our next trip to Montreal!
