Richard runs an excellent well-priced self catering B&B ... every detail is attended to ... the rooms are clean, spacious and attractively furnished ... Richard has a good eye for art. ... the beds are large and comfortable ... Richard himself is fastidious and precise ... he conscientiously assists as required to select excellent restaurants that fit taste and budget ... he has business card folders of restaurants at which he personally has dined and assessed to be of exceptional value and/or quality.

The location is close to the Metro, so touring the city was easy. We left our car parked for three days (Richard even helped us get a parking spot and avoid parking tickets. In Montreal, it is important to know the rules. Richard knows the rules and is always happy to help.)

Good location near buses and Metro. Big, comfortable room. Nice owner.

However, "breakfast" consisted of grocery store bagels, boxes of cereal, etc. Nothing special. I would assume (and have seen at other B&Bs) at least a little fresh local fruit, but the apples left in the fridge has stickers from Washington State. I didn't get that close to the orange because it was really wrinkled. Went out for breakfast each morning to the boulangerie / fresh market and carried on.

Lovely comfortable spacious rooms. Excellent Air Con & Wifi.
Richard is an excellent host, very helpful with tips on sight seeing, restaurants & nightlife.
Very close to Le Village on Rue St. Catherine, and close to Metro Station.

I can not begin to say enough about the Le Cartier B&B. Not only is the rooms spotless.... every single detail is covered that you can think of. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone from family to friends.
