i stayed at the W for the first time for a business trip. I knew to expect fairly good quality given that its a Starwood chain but I wasn't expecting the 'cool' factor at this hotel. The lobby and room is quite trendy. The hotel room was spacious and well laid out - only a clear glass wall separated the shower from the bed area - first I have ever experienced. Nice amenity kit from bliss labs. Service was excellent throughout the hotel. Will definately go back there.

I just love this hotel and this chain. The service is just over the tops and I am always super confy there. We also take the Wonderful room. The food is also quite good. I tried the spa service this time and it was very good. This hotel never dissapoints...

If Barbarella got into the hotel business it would look like the W Montreal. Cool, playful, elegant, and ultramodern design throughout: from the lobby, to the bar (which serves the most awesome blood orange martinis dusted with chipotle), to the muted spaceship lighting of the hallways, this hotel is a design delight. Rooms are spacious with lots of fun touches like glowing bedside tables, curtains separating the bathroom from the bedroom proper, wide walk-in showers, and generous soaker tubs. Best of all: there is no overhead lighting... just lots of gorgeous silver lamps or funky wall mounted fixtures.

Despite obviously being a bit of a party spot, the rooms were quiet and we slept soundly. The rooms are well-equipped with ipod docks, wireless, plush towels, high-quality toiletries and even a rubber ducky.

The service is excellent and attentive without being too in your face. The only thing I would like to see them change is to install a proper coffee bar in the main lobby or, perhaps, in the small mini bar just off the main lobby.

If you're headed to Montreal for a fun, whimsical, or romantic getaway I highly suggest you splurge on the W.

My family were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. It is so fun and different. The rooms were enormous and very luxurious with great touches such as comfy chairs and throws. The bathroom though equally beautiful was slightly strange in that it had no door but rather a curtain which resembled a hospital curtain. This unattractive curtain also left no privacy as it was see-through. The bathrooms otherwise gorgeous and enormous. Everything is incredibly modern and hip. Though we enjoyed our stay we were very dismayed to have been disturbed by security. They rudely came to our room at 10pm to tell us that there had been several complaints about how noisy we were being. We were shocked as all we were doing is talking to each other. It made more sense when we heard our neighbors' on both sides, televisions and conversations throughout the night. To say that the walls were thin is to put it mildly. Nonetheless we did enjoy our stay, had we been there for more than a night we might have discussed this with the staff.
