My family were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. It is so fun and different. The rooms were enormous and very luxurious with great touches such as comfy chairs and throws. The bathroom though equally beautiful was slightly strange in that it had no door but rather a curtain which resembled a hospital curtain. This unattractive curtain also left no privacy as it was see-through. The bathrooms otherwise gorgeous and enormous. Everything is incredibly modern and hip. Though we enjoyed our stay we were very dismayed to have been disturbed by security. They rudely came to our room at 10pm to tell us that there had been several complaints about how noisy we were being. We were shocked as all we were doing is talking to each other. It made more sense when we heard our neighbors' on both sides, televisions and conversations throughout the night. To say that the walls were thin is to put it mildly. Nonetheless we did enjoy our stay, had we been there for more than a night we might have discussed this with the staff.

W Montreal is a trendy hotel very much in the style of all W hotels. Lobby and halways are dark and you do get the feeling of being in a club.
Staff are friendly. Our check -in was easy and quick and we were upgraded to a larger room (Starwood Platinum member).
The room we were given was indeed fairly large, on an upper level with a nice view on the park. The room is clean and well appointed and still looks rather new.
The gym is on a lower floor and a bit small. Main problem with the hotel is the constant noise. The staff or the hotel is not too blame but other residents are. We have stayed there four three nights so far and it is always the same; people come back to their rooms in the middle of the night and talk loudly in the hallways. We have asked for quiet rooms in the past but have always had the same problem. I will be reluctant to stay again on a week-end, unless of course I plan on going out all night.
Other thing is the location which is so-so. It is a bit in a no mans land between Old Montreal and downtown, up the hill. For some, it can be a plus since it is relatively easy to walk anywhere.
Altogether a very good hotel and comfortable place to stay.

My boyfriend took me to the W for a romantic, night away. It was all we could have wanted! The luxurious suite he booked was spacious, well decorated, and just what we needed. The large windows, EXTRA large tub and shower, and funky furniture were all fabulous touches! We did not visit any of the bars or restaurants in the hotel during our stay, but were quite impressed with the customer service at the desk and overall ambiance. Can't wait to stay at the W again!

The only thing I can think to say about this hotel is "How soon can I go back?" I have never had a nicer stay, period. I would echo what other reviewers have said, that if you need a really quiet room, just ask - ours was elegant, delightful, and silent. I would like to give a special shout-out to the concierge and front desk since I was traveling with two kids (albeit well-traveled ones), which is not very W. The concierge recommended two perfect restaurants for us without missing a beat. Triple-perfect location for exploring the City without being right on Rue St. Catherine (shudder). Highly recommended. Eat beans & rice for a month prior to afford to stay here if necessary.
