“Absolument Parfait Pour Moi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This was a great little budget hotel! Über warm however you could open the windows if need be. The rooms were clean, shower was hot & had good water pressure, and the staff was great! Free wifi and little fridge in the room as well:) Location - the hotel is a 3min walk away from STM metro station which is awesome.

Now sure with a hotel like this, you'll get a few "sketchy" guests as well, however it's like that at other hotels regardless of the price point. I liked the fact that you had to be buzzed into the hotel at all hours....safety first!

This is a no-frou frou place, however if all you're looking for is a warm, safe, clean place to lay your head while enjoying Montréal, than I so recommend this place!

Bonnes vacances!

Rude people, didnt say hi or helped with luggage, slept on our own sheets cause of the smell/bad quality of their sheets, the wi-fi didnt work once... Will not go back there. The only good thing is that we were pretty close to st-catherine's and other great streets.

“You get what you pay for!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

This hotel does not deserve these awful reviews. We paid only 77 dollars a night (cheap in Montreal) for the room on the top floor which faced the bus station. I have trouble sleeping and slept well all 3 nights in a very comfortable bed with clean linen. Yes the AC is centrally controlled and it was a bit stuffy and yes the decor could be a lot better but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was laid out in the mornings and you could help yourself to orange juice, coffee, muffins and croissants which were very fresh and tasty - I saw that they were bought from Costco. Nobody limited us to one of anything, in fact I had a very large croissant and shared a muffin every morning. The noise from the bus station was not an issue although it was the construction holiday whilst we were there. The location is very central and easy to get to wherever you want to go. The staff were fine. If you want luxury you have to pay for it. This hotel is suitable if you are not wanting to spend a lot of time in it and use it as a base to sleep and shower. It's 2* and that's what you get. It is not suitable for elderly or disabled people as there is no lift.

Room Tip: Not facing the bus station

“Need to go to hospitality school...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We got this hotel through Air Canada bookings thinking this would not be so bad - note, low expectations already...

When we got there in the morning, the lady who greeted us checked and said our room was ready, yey... This was the best part. When we asked for two keys as there are two of us, we got the "look" but got the keys anyway.

ACCESS: Next, our room, it is on the top floor in the very back, no elevator - elderly folks should not even try to go here.

NOISE: Got in the room, tried to be cheery, then saw that the bus station was immediately behind... PLUS, heavy construction so we heard a symphony of bus, tractor, bulldozer, and power tool noises... At night, the hotel has a note saying 10 PM curfew on noise. This was not enforced as I heard load voices and noises past this time almost every night.

HOT ROOM: By noon time, we noticed that the room was hot. I went downstairs, 2 floors of stairs, to tell the lady that the room is hot, she said she will take care of it. 2 hours later, still no air. I asked again and the guy this time said he would turn it on, and it did turn on. He told me the vent was closed, etc... We also figured out that someone left the heater on in the room, separate device under the window, staff did not tell us. A/C a constant issue... We also figured out how to open the windows... yes, it opens, but the NOISE just got louder.

INTERNET: You must ask for the password. I got it form the lady who gave me the "look" again. For the top floor room, the internet is slow to non-existent. It works in weird locations like by the bathroom door, the foot of the bed, etc. It is also slow.

Overall, the main issue is not the hotel per se as much as the staff or people needing to be trained on the concept of hospitality and customer satisfaction. We never felt welcomed and made us feel like we were bothering them over a hot room, noise, etc.

Room Tip: Stay away from the back room, a ground floor room may solve the heat and access issue, but no tip fo...

“Well, so Terrible or pOor? Hard to say...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

Let's faced, it is all about quality/price. At least at my experience. And I do travel, may not crazy, bu about 30 country's and around 200 cites. And this ONE came to the BOTTOM of anything if you calculate it by quality/price. They really shroud start position this hotel as a hostel with private rooms, and no normal service. The free breakfast is a JOKE - JUST small juice and very questionable muffin. The bed sheets was fine, however the whole room was looks messy, like unpacked lampshade from plastic, tapes on tv, wholes in mattress cover, not clean carpet, very old bathroom shampoo, strange soap, window to the BUS station with bus announcements... You know, I am ok with ALL of that, since I was in Asia travel for about 5 months. BUT for price around ~$10!!! Ok, for center of Montreal, (very convenient location!!!! ), Quebec province, and of course very expensive country Canada - let say $50 CAD!!! But no, try to guess how much they did charge us, and they did it in very poor manner, without telling you the REAL final price after tax. So real final total was about $290 CAD a night!!!! You can stay in the Tower at Vancouver for that price. So my suggestion - NEVER!!! Never go there, unless the will put the right price. Next to them, on the left side the Quality INN hotel I used to stay once about 2 years ago - it is about 100 times better, and about 3 times chipper.
