“Decide for Yourself!!!”

After reading all the reviews, we decided to check this place out. We did not book it in advance, but decided to see for ourselves and decide on a spot (mainly because the manager of this place sounded a bit inadequate, she would burst into laughter after she made some foolish remarks.) Not to book it in advance was one of the best decisions of my life. When we came, we saw that the location sucked!!!! Completely and undeniably, sucked!!! We came in, the manager asked us to take off our shoes, it was cold, raining outside, and the place had no carpeting, I was bare foot. So, we told her we called and came down to see if we could spend a weekend there. She was right into our faces (it was inappropriate), I had to literally ask her for some privacy, to give us a minute, because I wanted to ask my husband if he likes it or not. Bottom line is, the location is the worst, it is extremely overpriced for the value, it is not romantic, and the old lady will ruin one good feeling about the place, if there is any; the feeling is you'll be staying with this lunatic and she'll be doing you a big favor by letting you stay for over $ 260 a night. Do yourself a big favor, stay in Old Montreal, it is amazing. We ended up staying in Le Place D'Armes with the view of the Notre Dame, candles, champagne, that was romantic. Great place, stylish, cozy, not your regular hotel, the location was great, close to everything to see in Montreal, the service was amazing, they gave us coupons for free drinks in their really cool stylish bar/restaurant, etc. Check out for yourself, and do not believe great reviews you read about Le Petit Prince, the place is significantly overpriced. It is hard to make my husband uncomfortable, but he was begging whispering, let's just get out of here, that's how creepy that lady was and that's how uncomfortable it felt to be there. Best of luck!!!

“Fantastically eclectic and chic”

If not for the sharp and critical wit of director Pam, or the incredible breakfasts... you must come for the sheer pleasure and relaxation of Le Petit Prince B&B. It was an exhale much needed after so many stressors in our lives. ...Oh and the location is great too.
Thank you so much.
We'll be back!

“A rather dreadful experience!”

We recently stayed for one night at Le Petit Prince B&B in Montreal: the place looked lovely on the website so we decided to 'treat ourselves', regardless of the high price compared to any other B&B in Montreal.
Firstly we weren't impressed with the location: definitely not the best part of town: it felt run down and certainly not as charming as the French quarter in the East.
On arrival we were utterly taken aback by the irritable manager, Pam, who made no attempt to make us feel welcome: prior to our arrival I had explained via email that we would arrive in the morning to drop off our bags but would return later to check into our room, to which she had agreed; however on arrival she bellowed ‘What are you doing? Check-in is at 3pm darling!’. She then snapped 'take your shoes off or join the cleaning team' (!!!).
After that, with us completely caught by surprise, she enthusiastically took our map to tell us where we should visit in the city. When I mentioned some of the great places we had already seen she told me 'you've wasted your time' and to 'shut up and listen to me'. Gulp! We had some time on that day and were curious, so we followed her suggested itinerary finding out that it included walking along a highway in the north part of town - nice! [advice: if you want a classic, touristy tour of Montreal don't listen to her ramblings about going to the market]
The final touch came the following morning when we came down to breakfast and were told 'the sooner you eat, the sooner you get the hell out of here!' in front of another guest. And when we asked how to get to the airport with public transport, she answered that her clients use taxis, so she didn't know (she only looked for info on the internet after we asked her again).
In conclusion, the room was gorgeous with lovely furnishings (apart from the toilet being in the room itself, so not very private!). The Jacuzzi was also wonderful and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious but -guess what- Pam made no attempt to explain what we were eating, rather she plonked the food in front of us and then loudly 'ranted' about her negative opinions and her life while we ate.
It was a weird and surreal experience. It's funny how sometimes people completely unsuited for a hospitality job end up working in the sector and mess their clients around.
Of course if you don't mind paying and being treated with zero respect by a loony, then go ahead and book: just stay out of her way and enjoy the nice room!

“Absolutely without question the finest B&B in all of Montreal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

My wife and I spent this past weekend at Le Petit Prince, we could not have asked or received better service from the manager Pam, who is the most real - down to Earth - charming manager we have ever met. The location is perfect, the room was extremely well keep and unbelievably charming and cozy. We will be return each and everytime we need a break and will never look elsewhere as long as Le Petit Prince is up and running.
Thank you!!!!!!!

“You can do better elsewhere”

My husband and I spend a night at Le Petit Prince, the location was great and the breakfast was excellent, BUT my advice to the manager is "if you are in the hospitality business, you should be hospitable." We didn't feel very welcome and didn't enjoy listening to nasty stories about precious guests who irritated her. It seemed like the person was very stressed and needed a break from managing this place; however I resent paying lots of money expecting nice service and end up feeling like I was walking on eggs. My advice if you are looking for a place to stay in Montreal is "do not go there", it is very expensive for what you get and it is not a relaxing place, at the moment anyway.
