“Great site-poor food and customer service...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

I was treating my wife to a romantic weekend in Montreal, and stumbled on the the website for Petit Prince.

First off-the pros:
-Room is gorgeous-very very comfortable, artistic but yet a modern feel to it.
-Jacuzzi tub is awesome.
-Located right next to a subway station (Lucien Atellier)-and it's pretty much downtown.
-You can find parking around the B&B-and if you are coming from out of town it's pretty much off the highway.
-Just be aware that the toilet is not in an enclosed room-but open to your room...

Cons:
Basically the woman running it doesn't have the faintest idea of the definition of customer service. It was a cold November day, this is an older house that has no real insulation between the ouside wall and your room.
When we asked her the next morning to have the heat turned up or for an extra blanket, she begrudginly offered us a log. We used it the second night-and when we went downstairs she animatedly told us that she knew we used it as she could smell it at 1:30am and it kept her up until 4am and from now on she won't give them out until she feels the temperature is really cold and guests could just freeze. We suggested a portable electric heater for the rooms, or a really simple solution-an extra blanket, and she just said it's not worth it, it's not cold enough most night...What an odd exchange.

Also-her 'making' of the bed was to just pull the comforter over the bed. Seriously-I do not need my bed made-but if you're going to do it, do it right...

The food was also terrible. The 'crepe' was about half an inch thick. What the hell. We were woken up on Sunday morning to the smell of burnt garlic...
I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

“A very cozy, comfortable B&B with a great central location”

Pam's gourmet breakfasts are prepared with care - best breakfasts I've had in a B&B.
The place is kept very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Great place for couples or friends to stay to enjoy peace and quiet and central location, not so much kid friendly.
Side note - we stayed in the green room and we didn't realize that the toilet/shower area was open to the rest of the room (no door) - be prepared to enjoy an intimate stay!

“Our own little paradise!”

This was our second time staying at Le Petit Prince and as with the first, it was incredible. From the amazing room- tub, bed, decor- to the breakfasts and especially the host-Pam- we just loved it!

Pam is so creative with the breakfast and we are NEVER dissapointed. We always looked forward to our morning chats with her as she is a real sweetheart. Those who are complaining about her obviously don't know how to respect rules. You have to remember that this is essentially someone's home so if they tell you to take off your shoes- THEN DO IT. When you are a good guest, Pam goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay and it really is worth every penny!

The location is steps from downtown which makes it easy to check out all the sites and great restaurants .

Don't miss out on this FANTASTIC place- you won't regret staying there!

Room Tip: Our favorite room for summer is the green room as it has a great little balcony.

“A home away from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

The heart and soul of this very charming and beautiful bed and breakfast is Pam, the free spirit who runs the place. She is a feisty soul who has explored and lived in much of Canada, including the arctic, and will be glad to regale you with stories of her colorful life and inform you what the real Canada is all about (which is full of characters like Pam). It's the feistiness that turned-off the people who wrote the bad reviews, but they didn't look under the surface. Underneath the bluster is a warm-hearted person who got up at 4am (really!!!) to bake us fresh english muffins (with quinoi and whole wheat!) for a gourmet Egg Mcmuffin and fresh fruit salad with yogurt and served it to us at 5am because she guessed correctly that we wouldn't have time to get breakfast at the airport. Breakfast is normally scheduled between 8:30 and 10am.

All her rules make sense, like taking off shoes- the owner put in beautiful but very soft birch floors throughout.

The rooms are very interesting and each one is unique. The beds are extremely comfortable. And the breakfasts are amazing and are all Pam's unique creations and made from scratch- in her itinerant life she was also a chef! She kindly gave me the recipe for a breakfast veggie burger (with quinoi and walnuts-wow!) after I begged for it.

In addition, the location is extremely convenient for walking or if you have a car or if you take the metro- it's located downtown next to a metro station and a freeway which connects to the airport, and nearby sights.

We definitely will be back and hope Pam will be there to greet us with her tough love!

“Decide for Yourself!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

After reading all the reviews, we decided to check this place out. We did not book it in advance, but decided to see for ourselves and decide on a spot (mainly because the manager of this place sounded a bit inadequate, she would burst into laughter after she made some foolish remarks.) Not to book it in advance was one of the best decisions of my life. When we came, we saw that the location sucked!!!! Completely and undeniably, sucked!!! We came in, the manager asked us to take off our shoes, it was cold, raining outside, and the place had no carpeting, I was bare foot. So, we told her we called and came down to see if we could spend a weekend there. She was right into our faces (it was inappropriate), I had to literally ask her for some privacy, to give us a minute, because I wanted to ask my husband if he likes it or not. Bottom line is, the location is the worst, it is extremely overpriced for the value, it is not romantic, and the old lady will ruin one good feeling about the place, if there is any; the feeling is you'll be staying with this lunatic and she'll be doing you a big favor by letting you stay for over $ 260 a night. Do yourself a big favor, stay in Old Montreal, it is amazing. We ended up staying in Le Place D'Armes with the view of the Notre Dame, candles, champagne, that was romantic. Great place, stylish, cozy, not your regular hotel, the location was great, close to everything to see in Montreal, the service was amazing, they gave us coupons for free drinks in their really cool stylish bar/restaurant, etc. Check out for yourself, and do not believe great reviews you read about Le Petit Prince, the place is significantly overpriced. It is hard to make my husband uncomfortable, but he was begging whispering, let's just get out of here, that's how creepy that lady was and that's how uncomfortable it felt to be there. Best of luck!!!
