I stayed at Hotel St-Denis in November for 3 nights. The hotel room was clean and had hard wood floors which was a nice change from carpet! The people at the front desk were very helpful and gave us a map of montreal and even told us places we should go for dinner & drinks. The hotel was nicely located, close to the metro and a short walk to all the things you would want to see in Montreal. The parking was convenient and cheap compared to the other hotels I had looked at. Only downside was that you can hear people in the hallway easily because the walls are thin, but it wasn't that bad. Overall great hotel for an affordable price!

We needed a place for a night downtown Montreal close to the Metro and bus station.
The St-Denis is very conveniently located just south of ST-Catherine. It is a great value for money. It is a small, older hotel, well maintained, clean, quiet and our triple room was quite big.
I recommend it.

Weekend family trip to Montreal. Our room was on the 4th flr, very spacious and clean. Considering this is a 3 star hotel, we were very happy with it. Fabulous water pressure in the shower (very rare). Great bed and the pillows were wonderful. The hotel was wonderfully located. We parked the car and walked everywhere. The staff were very helpful and gracious.

I stayed at the Hotel St-Denis in mid-November in a "budget" room - which means it is smallish, and has only the basics - soap, shampoo - but also a TV, nice steel coffee/tea maker (which means tea water doesn't have that coffee taste), and an ice bucket! (Ice is on main floor). There is an arm chair and armless chair and nice simple table (easy to move if you want to rearrange furniture) that's nice to work at. Also a chest of drawers and night table.
This small historic hotel is situated with walking distance to Old Montreal and the main streets. Fifteen minutes away from the main shopping area, Place des Arts, etc.
The best part is there's a wood (laminate) floor - so there's no "hotel smell". Room is spotless. AND the window opens! Very comfortable bed and pillows. (I was in room 403 - nice room.) Three lamps. Small bathroom with a shower and toilet. Sink is tucked away in the entrance area (like in Europe)In another review I read that there's a club nearby - so ask for a room away from that. The desk staff is extremely welcoming, gracious and helpful and completely bilingual.
A great bargain. This is the hotel I'll be coming to from now on.
