If you love animals, Carole's is the place for you. It's close to the Metro and Monkland Village. Carole and Marlene make great hosts and when you get home after a long day in Montreal, you are met by four fabulous (little) furry friends!

My son and I stayed at Carole's Purrfect on a weekend and had a wonderful stay. Carole Irgo, the innkeeper, was friendly, helpful, and seemed to know exactly how much conversation to make in order to make all guests comfortable. The inn iteslf is a lovely old building decorated with objet's d'art from around the world which Ms. Irgo has acquired in her many travels (which add to her conversational abilities).
The rooms are impeccably clean and nicely furnished with all the necessitis, and a few non-necessities (coffee makers),
Breakfasts were simple and of high quality- everything was fresh.
This is a small B & B (3 rooms) and thus has small living areas, which are comfortable for reading or relaxing in.
Of course, there are the Cats. and Dogs. It ought to be obvious that if you do not want furry companionship, then this is not the place for you! The aforesaid furry companions make things more friendly and homelike, and made my son happy as he loves cats (we have 2).
One of the nicest things about Carole's purrfect as that thanks to the four-legged owners, there is just enough chaos and disorder so that one doesn't feel as though one is occupying a precious gem. This is relaxing and welcoming, especially to children who don't need to be hissed at not to touch. This may not be a purrfect place for very young ones, though.
This B&B be is a great value-- it is not a 5 star hotel-- and is not priced as such. It IS though, perfect at what it holds itself out as-- a relaxing, pleasant place to spend a couple of days.

Carole and her four pets (cats: Jasper and Cassis; dogs: Ari and Sadie) were excellent hosts to my son and I. We had delicous breakfasts (including world-famous Montreal bagels) and nice conversations with Carole. She has a wonderful, eclectic art collection, including some of her own and those produced by some of her art students when she was a teacher. The B&B has parking and is located near the Vendome metro station, only a few stops from Old Montreal and the heart of the city. She will let you use her WebTV for checking email, and told us she's getting wired so guests can use WiFi. She was undergoing renovations when we stayed, to make it an even nicer place for families and others to stay.

Carole is one of the most trusting people I've ever met. We got there and met her right away (and her dog and cat too!!) All were very welcoming!! The house was filled with wonderful things to look at and it was spotless.The bedroom was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and filling. Carole was a delight to talk to. I LOVED her cat who slept with us in our room. So sweet and seemed to understand every word I said. Beautiful garden. Very well maintained. Quite a treat. Great price...I'll go back without a doubt.
