We wrongly assumed Garden Suite would be on main level. It should be renamed basement suite as it is in the basement of the house. However it does have a door opening to the garden, and no entrance was provided directly into the house. Moreover the door to the house was kept locked with no access key provided. Thus we were forced to endure our stay in the "suite" - underground, with very little natural light, and a tremendous amount of humidity. The dehumidifier was running 24 hours and had to be emptied every day. The flooring was warped and lifting on account of this. The bathroom was very small and the door did not close properly. The bed was comfortable, however the pull out bed was impossible to use. On the positive side the B&B was conveniently located with parking spot near highway with good access to subway to get downtown. Breakfast was nicely presented and host was hospitable. However I would not recommend the "Garden" suite.

I have visited Montreal many times to see my grandmother. After staying at Carols Purrfect bnb, I stopped going anywhere else. The house is like a museum, full of artifacts from all around the world. Each piece has a story from one of Carols adventures around the globe. She's traveled to more than 65 countries (I asked) and she'll tell you the most amazing stories. I've stayed in each of her rooms, including the basement suite (You should see the stone wall). It's worth mentioning that the house is a short walk away from a metro, so you can park your car and never touch it for the whole trip.

If you're lucky, you'll catch the cat and dog playing with each other.

I was very excited to discover this B&B in NDG, just earlier this year I had to close up our family residence in NDG of more than 50 years and had no place to stay for my high school reunion. I didn’t want to stay downtown.
The location is great, just a short walk to the Metro station (Vendome) which will get you straight downtown without the need to transfer. Even though next to the Decarie Expressway I was not bothered at all by any noise, the walls in this old place are quite thick.
As mentioned in earlier reviews the hosts are very pleasant and accommodating. If you leave hungry after breakfast it’s your own fault, plenty to eat for sure.
I was not disappointed and will return for sure as I have found a new “home” in NDG.

I have had the pleasure of staying at Carole's B&B numerous times over the past few years every time I go to Montreal to visit family. Her location is perfect - close to the Metro that gets you around the city in no time so you can park your car and explore the city by foot and public transport. The B&B is close to the now trendy Monkland area for great eating. Beds are comfortable (I have slept in all of the rooms) and the bathroom spotless. The house is filled with wonderful artifacts from her travels around the world making anyone feel a touch of home regardless of where home might be. Carole knows all of the tourist spots and places to visit to match any experience you would like to have in the city. She won't let you leave without a hearty and flavourful breakfast to fuel you up for the day. Carole is a wonderful hostess and her cat and dog are well behaved (and very cute!). Marlene (Carole's family) is also a lot of fun and very generous. As a former Montrealer who has stayed in a number of different B&B's in Montreal over the years, I keep returning to Carol's Purrfect B&B and I call it my second home.
