“I liked it. There's better and there are PLENTY that are worse.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2011

As the title says...

This place is clean and quiet. I'm sure I've stayed at nicer hotels but I've definitely stayed at A LOT of worse places.

Staff was the best part. Always had a smile and were always willing to help. Again, this should be the standard, but it's not. During my travels I have learned to appreciate good service and this place has it.

Rooms were a bit small, but it's not like we were looking for an apartment. It had a bed a dresser and a clean bathroom. The TV channels were limited but hey you go to Montreal to do stuff, not watch TV so I can't complain too much. Rooms were clean.

Breakfast left a little bit to be desired. There was some toast and coffee. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, Montreal has A TON of breakfast places around... Go out and explore!

“Comfy and unique B&B, very friendly staff”

We stayed here for a short trip to see the city. Overall the staff was wonderful, and the rooms were comfortable and had great character, it was a a main street, but road noise was minimal. Food is basic, but there are plenty of nearby eateries. Most attractions are in reasonable walking distance as well. Recommended.

Wally and Anicka were terriffic and very helpful. They were always ready to offer a helping hand. The location is the best in the city and for the price its unbeatable. We loved Wally, he is on the of the greatest French Canadians that ever lived. We will be back to Montreal and to Armor Manoir. -Mike and Shea-

“Overrated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

Outside parking is 1km from the hotel, they gave us at first a very dusty 2-beds room (decrepit), the A/C was inoperative, an old color Tv, remotes weren't working for both. The new room they gave us was very nice, bed was confortable. The included breakfast was very poor, only toasts and coffee, period. It's overrated. They finally gave us a little reduction on the price, after long negociations with the french manager.
Too pricey for the quality.

“modernize the room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

The room did not have "luxurious accomadations" as advertised in the DK Eyewitness Travel book . The bed was a double bed not a queen. The bed was very uncomfortable with a very thin and hard mattress. The room did not have its own heating and cooling system. If it had been Summer with temperatures above 70 degrees we would have left immediately. We had to keep the windows (with no screens) open for any cool air. They claimed the ice machine was broken all week. We aren't sure they even had one since we never saw one. There wasn't an ironing board or iron in the room. I asked to use one and they said I had to use it in the hallway. I felt like they didn't trust me with it. We went to the breakfast one time and the croissants were dry.

The location was centrally located and near various restaurants. Everyone on the staff was friendly except for the woman who made me iron in the hallway. The interior and exterior of the building was pretty except for the room.
