“Always a great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We absolutely love Montreal, great city whether it's freezing cold or very warm outside, it's always a happening city. There are always new restaurants to try out. We're big fans of the night live in Montreal and the hotel is perfectly located near Crescent, St-Laurent or the Village. Beds and pillows are so comfy, but the reason why we keep on returning to this hotel is for the great service. The staff remembers us and they make us feel at home. If you can splurge a bit, look at the online deals and upgrade to a Gold room, it's worth it! Sadly we have to check out tomorrow and we can't wait to come back again in a couple of months.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Gold room or junior suite.

“My hotel of choice in Mtl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Everything is taken care of. Great service - for example they once let me cancel my stay on the same day, no penalty, when I had to return home for a family emergency. In-room dining is great; diversified food and café options are available in the train station accessible by elevator. Corporate prices are affordable. Tip: Make sure you request a recently renovated room!

In this HOTEL you don't have to go outside to enjoy Montreal ,everything is inside. The good part about this HOTEL location, is that in winter time, you don't need to bring your heavy boots and jacket,,because you realy don't have to go outside. Everyting you realy need, Shopping,Food,Casino,Pubs,Train, etc is right there in this location.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Just got back from another great stay at The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in beautiful Montreal. This might be my favorite city in Canada and it doesn't matter what time of year you go. I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now and have had nothing but the best service and comfortable rest. The linens on the beds are incredible, so much I had a hard time getting up each day. So warm and soft on the skin. Better than many quality hotels I have stayed at. Before I get ahead of myself I need to start from the beginning. Valet parking was awesome for such a large hotel in the middle of a downtown core. They greeted me promptly, arranged all my luggage to be taken to my room and escorted me to check in. Check-in went rather quick considering the amount of guests checking in. If possible when booking this hotel try and get a room at the front of the hotel on a higher floor. Great views of Mont-Royal and the city line. The service at the lobby bar was the best I've ever experienced. Our bar keep Daniel loved his job and it showed. He hooked us up with reservations at the best steak house in the country. Queue de Cheval. If you stay here it is a must. Try the 10oz Kobe Filet and you will think you died and went to steak heaven. They also have a phenomial wine list, cigar bar and the best scotch money can buy. Another must do is a quick visit to Saint Patrick's Bascillia. It two blocks from the hotel. When you walk in to this church you will instantly be humbled and feel an incredible feeling of peace. On a completely often hand if you are looking to party the two best spots are Crescent Street and St Laurent near Sherbrook. Like beer? Brutopia on Crescent street has remarkable craft beer and some of the best live music. The Irish pub "Hurleys" next door is great for live music too. Looking to relax? Visit Le Scnandenave spas in old Montreal. They have a hot waterfall that cascades onto your back and neck. Better than an RMT any day. Visiting Mont-Royal in the warmer months is great too. The views are spectacular. Anyway I could write and write. If you are looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced, right smack in the middle iffy all the action and has a little something for everyone, than look no further that the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Montreal.

Room Tip: Higher floors, front of hotel and be sure to ask for a King bed. For a nice treat book the gold floo...

“The Queen Elizabeth, an average property in need of a reno”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth on Rene Levesque West in Montreal is in a great location. When you walk in, you can feel the old world charm that would have made it a must for business travelers in years past. Now, it is just an average hotel that if you get a great rate for is worth the expense, but don't pay more than $199 a night for this hotel or you will be disapointed. You can occasionally get this hotel on sale on the web.

The standard hotel room is nice, but the room I had had an awkward layout and the t.v. was an old tube style that you had to swivel around so that you could watch it from the bed. The room was large and had a nice area to get dressed, but the bathroom was old style with very little counter space for a women to lay out her toiletries. Another note about the room is that the mini bar items, all on a tray at the window are ridiculously priced and even if you did indulge in them, you have no guarantee how fresh they are given that most people will not shell out $9 for a small treat! Also, while i found the bed just fine, a couple of my business colleagues shared that they did not enjoy what they found were lumpy mattresses.

The best part of this hotel is the nice feel of its former grandeur. The main floor restaurant is also very nice for breakfast (buffet or a la carte). And you are minutes to many excellent restaurants, cafes and shopping all accessible from the underground. Metro is also very convenient.

This hotel is fine, but if you are looking for spectacular, look elsewhere.

Dear OntarioTravelExec - Thank you for taking the time to share some feedback regarding your recent stay. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the location and the comfort of our beds. Further to the comments from your business colleagues, we're happy to mention that we've already started changing the mattresses on some floors and we're hoping to have them all changed by the end of the year. We also have several ongoing projects that should address other suggestions you have shared. Regarding the minibar items, I can assure you we have a dedicated team looking after the freshness of these items in our guestrooms. Additionally we thank you for recognizing our restaurant Le Montréalais on the main floor as a great venue for breakfast whether it is a la carte or buffet. Best Regards.
