“Great service, awesome location, room a little dark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Overall this boutique hotel was a very pleasant experience. The staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous and helped us find all kinds of nearby attractions and restaurants. The location is superb, directly across from the beautiful Parc de la Fontaine and about a 5-10 minute walk from the Plateau shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was decent though having constant access to cookies and tea/coffee was great. The only drawback was the darkness of the room (which was itself quite large), only one relatively small window. The door also opens into a mirrored closet which is a bit odd. But overall had a very good stay there.

Room Tip: Try to get one with more light/bigger windows if possible

“Small room, incredible service, can't beat the location to the route verte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012 via mobile

Cute hotel, rooms were European sized. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. The hotel kept our bicycle cases for the entire week we were cycling and not charged for the service. The little bar was a nice feature. Now to the most amazing part of our stay. Our flight was scheduled to leave in the midst of the Montreal marathon which completely obstructed traffic to the hotel location both public and taxi. After spending 45 minutes exploring every other available option the desk attendant clocked out early-forgoing pay-and drove us with our massive bicycle cases in her personal car to the airport. It is so rare to see such a gesture of kindness in modern societies. Thanks and we are planning another trip this fall. We will check the marathon schedule this time.

“Pretty little hotel in the Plateau area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Auberge de la Fontaine is a pretty little hotel in the trendy Plateau Mont-Royal area, just opposite from a beautiful park, Parc Lafontaine. Many great restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are only a 5-10 minute walk from there.

The service was particularly good, with every employee being very courteous and cheerful.

My room on the 2nd floor was comfortable, clean and quiet, with perhaps slightly outdated furniture and a tiny, but functional bathroom.

Breakfast is nice, with a good choice of food and beverages.

As I regularly travel to Montreal, I'll definitely be staying there again.

“A lovely, affordable change from boring chains”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I have stayed here several times on business over the years, and always appreciate the eclectic colours and decoration in the rooms, the 24-hour availability of snacks in the kitchen, the lovely breakfast and the location near the heart of the Plateau.

“Lovely hotel - good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed at Auberge de La Fontaine during Christmas week 2011. It was cold and snowy outside, but inside all was comfy and very nice. Our room had a view of the park covered in snow. Location is good - near restaurants. Parking was okay because alternate side was off for the winter. I would definitely book there again.
