I stayed here with my husband in December when we went to UFC 124 @ the Bell Centre. It is so close to everything! It is on a corner right across from the Bell centre, less than a 1 min walk! The largest underground shopping is just blocks away and streets are full of great little shops close by. Tones of great cafes, diners, pubs, and restaurants less than a 3min walk down the street.
The Service at the hotel was excellent; everyone was very helpful, polite and accommodating.
There is a café on the main floor of the hotel, we went for breakfast 2 days in a row it was so good.
The room could have been a bit bigger but we made it work with just enough space to walk around all sides of the bed. The room had a small TV and sometimes the wireless internet did not work (seemed to be during the busy times of the day/night).The bathroom was quite small; shower had just enough room for one small person.
The Taxi ride from the airport to this hotel is about $40 and takes about 20min but I read there is an express bus that can take you for about $7.
As for parking we took a taxi to this hotel from the airport, but it did not look like there was a good place for it. I would recomed calling the hotel for info on this before you go to be sure.
Overall I really liked this hotel and would stay here again if this was the area of Montreal I wanted to be in. Great hotel for an awsome price.
Excellent location, close to all major conference venues/hotels in downtown area. a block behind the hotel is Montreal's major shopping district (St. catherine). Cross the road from the hotel, there is a office complex (IBM,etc.) where you can buy all sorts of food/snacks at reasonable price. But most importantly, the hotel is very clean, and quiet, and can't fault on anything (well, may be except the blanket on the bed isn't the best).
Decided to stay here because I found it on priceline.com for 66 dollars, then found for an extra 10 I could get my own bathroom. It's called the YWCA but don't be fooled, both sexes are welcome there. My room was small, clean and cheerful, pretty much what I was expecting. The hotel is a block away from St Catharines, very close to shopping, bars and restaurants of all kind.
I would recommend this place for business ar leisure, any trip where you are spending the majority of your time out and about.
My only complaint might be the tiny TV with poor reception - but really I wasn't in town to watch TV
The staff were friendly and the rooms clean and simple. The main downside of the hotel is its location in the downtown business district - rooms overlook a busy road, and if you want to walk into town, it's an unattractive 30 minute walk. We regretted not paying a little bit more to stay in or near the Plateau, which is the liveliest and prettiest bit of the city. But it's good value, and would be fine if you're happy to use your room as nothing more than a sleeping place and to take the metro everywhere. It has kitchen facilities, but don't plan on doing much cooking for yourself beyond reheating something in a microwave, as it lacks basic equipment like kitchen knives.
