We reserved here because everywhere else was booked for one of the nights. Overall, the hotel needs an overhaul. The lobby is currently undergoing renovations so the desk area is small and crowded. In the room, it was VERY clean and, despite the creaky bed, the mattress was comfortable and generally slept well. The location is great: right downtown, 5 minutes down the hill to the metro and walking distance to St-Laurent and St-Denis streets with a great choice of excellent restaurants and entertainment. The service was friendly at the desk and we were informed the work underway in the hotel.

On the downside, there is no fridge in the room which was a disappointment. However, the wireless internet was good even though I was on the top floor. The room needs to be repaired and generally brought up to modern stylings and necessary small repairs done. Parking is expensive, but it is downtown Montreal. Breakfast is not included. Chez Cora is across the street but Café Imagination on the corner with Sherbrooke is by far superior.

In summary, you will be comfortable for the night if you have to, but there are other options in the area worth exploring.

We needed a plce to stay overnight in Mtl, as we had an early morning medical appointment, and didn't want to face the morning traffic. We had enough Choice Priviledge Points for a free night, so we chose this hotel for the price, and location, as well as the reputation of the chain.

The front desk staff was very helpful. We were given a very nice room, looks like it had been recently upgraded. It was very clean, and comfortable. We had no problems parking. We knew ahead of time that the lobby was under major renovations, and that there is a construction site next door. Since we had to leave soon after 7am, this didn't bother us..

If you are in for a quick overnight stay...I would highly recommend this place. If you are looking for a lazy, relaxed vacation, with a chance to sleep in..well...maybe you should go somewhere else till the renos and construction are finished.

although staff very helpful the lobby is being renovated and a shambles, the bathrooms needs work, and didn't seem completely clean although the room was pretty much.
Light in bathroom that horrid kind of strip light which flickered and died and at time of writing I have still been waiting 15 mins for someone to come up. Meanwhile no use of bathroom as in total darkness and consequently unable to be on time for appointment, so besides lobby renovation needing to be finished the fixtures and fittings in bathroom need total overhaul, aircon noisy and in effectual, and room overlooked building site so constant background noise!

The location of the hotel is closed to Chinatown and perfect for travelers but the parking was very expensive and there is no fridge and microwave. There is only one person was working at the time. Because of the system is very busy, I have to wait more than 30 minutes even though I made a reservation already. The room's view is not good at all because there is construction is going on and very noisy during the day.
