“worst hotel every stayed at....”

This was my first time to Montreal. what a horrible hotel for a first time experience. the receptionist was awful. Apparently, they have a new years policy (which was not on there website). you are given wristbands upon arrival. they took photocopies of all the guest id's and you where not allowed to bring liquor in bottles to you room. We felt like we were in some kind of camp. How can you tell adults they can't have bottles of liquor. not everyone drinks out of cans or box. the housekeeping service was also awful. the maid vacuumed the room, change the towels and garbage but never made the bed. they did not clean the fridge (it also didn't close) from the previous guest. They had security walking the halls. I just didn't feel relax at all on my trip.

I will never stay here again or recommend that anyone else do the same. Worst hotel experience ever.

Room Tip: don't go to this hotel

Stayed there for New Years Eve with a group of friends. Would not do so again.

We were forced to wear wrist bands for the duration of our stay to prove we were guests (thought that was why we had room keys), and the hotel would not allow friends from other hotels to come up to our rooms to meet us before dinner, forcing them to wait in the chairless lobby where the tile floor became a slippery death trap as guest tracked in snow.

Parking is a total myth, as the spots in the garage can be counted on one hand and the lot next door, which the front desk had absolutely no information on at all, was completely abandoned by the attendant for most of our stay.

The rules against glass bottles, the fee if you do not bag and take out your own trash, and the list we were given at check-in of every item in the hotel and its replacement cost were classy touches that made the place just reek of a college frat house. Even if all these obnoxious details were simply New Years Eve precautions, for this price, you can find a real hotel that can handle the night instead of this 9 story daycare center.

“A Pleasant Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We found Hotel Lord Berri well located to see Montreal and Vieux Montreal. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Having a restaurant on the ground floor, accessible from the lobby was lovely as we arrived late. It was also good if you wanted an early breakfast too. The staff were efficient and helpful.

“First time in Montreal...”

This was my first time in Monteal, and it started out fantastic because of this hotel. A fantastic front desk agent by the name of Catherine welcomed us to the hotel and made us feel right at home. The room was quite nice and the beds very comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant on our last day there and wished we hadn't bothered going out every other morning, the food was fresh, tasty and very well priced. Luckily Catherine was there again at check out and her co worker (worked at Banff but didn't get his name) made sure we were on our way safe and sound. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: we were on the front side of the hotel, and even with all the traffic going by didn't really not...

“Good location, but less than average rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Good location, close to metros, st. catherine, and old montreal. We walked around a lot, and the bixi bikes were great for getting us to places further away.

The room was nothing special, and the A/C was loud and the room felt very damp and sticky the entire time. It was not fun to come back to after a long day of exploring.
