Staff was very friendly and always available for questions about the hotel and surrounding area. Fast check in, room ready, very clean rooms. Free breakfast included with waffle makers! Located right next to the bus terminal, adjacent to the main hub of the Montreal metro system, 5 minute walk from Montreal's Quartier Latin and St-Denis area, 5 minute walk to Montreal's Gay Village this hotel is in a very convenient location for anybody wishing to enjoy Montreal!

If you used to stay at the Fairmont , Hilton or Sheraton maybe is not your type of Hotel! But for the rest of peoples who like traveling cheap is the place!! I had a good stay! The location is PERFECT close to everything!!!! Bus terminal, Metro, Restaurants , Nightlife! and shopping mall!! The staff was great, the checking was fast ! Maybe the elevator is a little bit scary but my room was perfect! Nice comfy Queen bed with comfy pillows ! The bathroom was a little bit small but clean and perfect! Free wifi and breakfast! For the breakfast they using plastic plates,forks and knifes but who cares!!

We'd arrived by bus from New York and were glad that this property was just a short walk from the bus station and metro.

The guy at reception was pleasant and we were quickly in our room, feeling welcome. And the room was all that we could desire, comfortable and well-appointed; it was simply pleasant with plenty of space for two people. Beds were comfortable.

The only feature of this property I would call average was the breakfast: the typically limited Choice Hotels fare but at least one doesn't have to start the day in a strange city by searching for food.

Room price was a little over $80 but with provincial, city and tourism taxes added, the total was around $104, making Montreal the most highly taxed city I've ever stayed in.

Would I stay here again? Definitely. It's a real find in downtown Montreal.

The Comfort Hotel & Suites was appealing because it is located in Downtown Montreal and we got a suite with a roll-away for just around $120 a night. Montreal is an expensive city and rooms downtown are not cheap - unless you settle for a real dump! I tried to reserve the room online but couldn't add a rollaway so I made the reservation by phone. The rep assured me there would be a rollaway. I received the email confirmation while he was on the phone and it didn't say anything about the rollaway - so I asked him for the 4th time - and I was assured for the 4th time that there will be a rollaway waiting. Guess what? Yep. Checked in and they had no clue whatsoever that we needed a rollaway. It wasn't an issue - the hotel got one right up to us - but that was frustrating.

The room itself was in need of some rennovation and cleaning. It is an older hotel and the carpet and linens reflect that. The bathroom had a deep, black fungus growing around some of the grout in the shower that was just nasty. Our room backed up to the Greyhound bus depot which was very loud early on - busses backing up, beeping, with loud engines.

The lobby of the hotel was very nice. Parking was very convenient, and I though that $17cad was pretty reasonable for a city hotel like that. Missed out on the included breakfast, unfortunately.

In the end, I probably won't go back, but I wouldn't rule it out either. I give it an "average" because of the good price and downtown Montreal location. If this were a smaller city or an airport hotel, or if it were more money, I probably would have rated it lower. The cleanliness issues would pose a problem with some travellers, but for a late night in, early morning out, it was tolerable for me. I'd request a room that didn't back up the the bus terminal tho!
