We had a wonderful stay at the Appartement Hotel. We stayed in a one bedroom appartment during three nights in December (Christmas time). The pool was a definite highlight for our two kids (3 and 5 years old), even though it was a bit cold and our older one barely touched the pool floor. We liked this hotel better than the square phillips (4 stars) because the room was cozier (more like a real appartement). On the negative side, the sofabed was really soft and short. It could hardly hold more than one adult. Still, sleep quality was great (no noise!). Also, breakfast time was a bit crowdy, but it was always possible to bring food to the room. After reading the many good reviews on this hotel, I thought this was a sure beat. Unfortunately, it was not what I expected. Although the hotel is well located, it smelt pretty bad. The washroom smelt like a clogged toilet, the carpets stank and the hallways had a strong egg salad smell (not very pleasant). The staff were not very pleasent and the breakfast was ok, but too basic.

Pros - great location, great value, the staff were so helpful, breakfast was awesome, the rooms are huge and with lots of room, free wifi
Cons - the pool was chilly and too cold to go in and enjoy and the sauna was not on so you'd have to wait for it to heat up.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in early October with 3 friends for one night and it is well worth the money. It was spacious, clean, and was head and shoulders better than getting two single rooms.

Definitely recommend for two couples or a group of friends.
