My husband and I were looking for a mini romantic week-end get away in our own city. We got a great deal on this hotel, so we didn't go in with high expectations. To our surprise it was one of our best experiences. The rooms have a very industrial modern look. The hotel is small and has a very intimate feel about it. It is nicely decorated in dark tones and wood, with large windows that give you a great view of Chinatown. It is very trendy without being pretentious. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke both English and French (seemed to be alot of vistors from Europe at the time we stayed and they too enjoyed their experience).
We had a LOFT suite room right off the elevator on the 9th floor (didn't hear elevator at all). Had a living room area, wall unit, table and then the bed. It was well equipped (Hidden fridge, sink, microwave, real wine glasses, plates and cutlery – which all came in handy for our takeout food we ate in our room. Coffee maker,(2) LCD TVs, and an alarm clock with an IPOD adaptor.) The bathroom was very nice (shower only – no bathtub), the bed was very comfortable, and we had a great view. It had everything we needed and we loved hanging out in the room between activities. So close to Chinatown and Old Montreal. Only downside in the suites it would have been nice to have bathrobes and because we stayed in the winter, and the rooms have dark wood floors when we walked into room with our boots – salt was left behind. Wish we had a mat to place our footwear on.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone headed to Montreal. The subway is also a short walk away. The valet was flat rate of $24 a day (which we did not use – found parking on the street near the hotel and didn’t have to pay for street parking on Sunday). But with the metro/subway so close no need for a car.
There is a little corner store “depanneur” connected to hotel if you need wine or beer last minute. If not a 5 minute walk away is a grocery store and liquor store (SAQ).
It turned out to be one of the best deals we have ever got on a hotel!
