“Solid Choice; Close to Airport (but not connected)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

PROs: Close to airport; modern/clean feel; free aiport shuttle

CONs: Airport noise, bright lights at night, limited eating options; 10-15 minute wait for free shuttle

Overall, this is a very good airport hotel. The check-in staff were very friendly and helpful (thank you).

Lobby
The lobby is fairly lodge with places to sit, a pool table, several computers (at least one for printing off your boarding pass), a coffee machine, and an open refridgerator with drinks and pre-made salads and sandwiches (although the selection was limited). There is a bar that opens up in the evening.

Room
The room was spacious, clean, and uses 'modern'-sytle furniture. Bathroom was spacious with a walk-in shower (no tub). Shower uses soap/shampoo dispensers rather than pre-packaged soap/shampoo. Certainly a 'loft' apartment feel to the room. Bed was comfortable enough. There is a small fridge in the room (although it is noisy). Had to shut the blinds completely at night as the outside lights were bright.

Location
Close to the aiport although not connected. There is a free shuttle that appears to come around every 10-20 minutes. Not a lot of dining options immediately near the hotel. The Sheraton is immediately next door to this hotel.

“Minimalist chique taken one detail too far”

Love the vibe at this hotel. Felt very European. Awesome shower, simple closet, big bench for luggage instead of silly dressers and drawers. No restaurant, but short walk across the street to get to the Sheraton. Calling the front desk for a new wireless code everyday was a pain...but the one thing that annoyed me was the lack of additional toilet tissue. After I called and asked for more - they neglected to bring it up. Funny how hotel satisfaction comes down to the smallest details!

Hello CanadianAnge,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us in reference to your recent stay with us. I do want to thank you for your compliments about my team and please rest assured that I have made sure to share them with everyone. As far as the internet connectivity issue is concerned a new log in is provided every 24 hours for security purposes. I can understand your disapointment about not receiving your toilet paper on time, this is not the impression I wanted you to be left with. As you say the smallest details do make a difference and I am commited to demonstrate that it can be done. Again thank you for your comments and I hope to have the pleasure of hosting you next time you are in the area. Live life Aloft!

“Not Impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Modern, conveniently located close to the airport and well priced hotel. Spacious and modern rooms, poorly appointed with 2 double beds (unfortunately one of them not clean). My biggest problem with this hotel was the cleaning (dirty bathroom tiles and floor) and towels located next to the toilet!
The staff was not particularly helpful and I did not feel welcome there.
By the way... hotel shuttle bus driver drove us through 3 parking lots before we got to the hotel!
There are other hotels in the vicinity that I would like to try next time.

“A modern, trendy hotel very close to the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We stayed at Aloft on our way home from a ski trip to Tremblant, and with an early am flight we needed a place close to the airport. We could not have been closer except by sleeping on the runway! Aloft is next door to the Sheraton (it shares a road entrance) and is just before the road to the airport itself. Flights are curtailed overnight, so noise was not a problem.

Aloft is a new trendy chain in the Starwood Group, apparently focused on younger travellers. The decor is colourful and bright. Oddly, the ceilings are rough concrete simply painted, but it works! The building is well laid out, the rooms are attractive, the beds are comfortable and the staff are super friendly. The only minor drawback is that there is no restaurant in the building, but the staff do allow (perhaps even encourage?) guests to order food from local delivery restaraunts and eat that food in the bar area (it was not stated, but I assume they want you to order beverages at the bar - we did!). For early departures, they have a snack food, coffee and juice bar in the lobby, with everything at very reasonable prices

The airport shuttle comes often, parking is available if you have a car and driving time to the departures level at Trudeau Airport is about 1 minute. It's that close!!

We booked at a discount agency and got a great price. Even at posted rates, Aloft is good value.

“Room great, the rest was too basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Had a rate that included breakfast (which is an important meal to me), and I have just received it. It was a paper bag with 1 apple, 1 croissant and one bottle of orange juice. Sorry but that is not breakfast for people coming from healthyland. So, if you want b/fast, stay away from this place. The room was perfectly fine, and the lack of restaurant is compensated for by the fact that you can walk across the road to the Sheraton and eat.
Oh, and the alarm clock didnt work, nor did the phones, overall I like the concept but seems that the place is poorly managed.

Hello Eagle888,
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to express your comments in reference to your recent stay with us. The breakfast provided to you was part of our park n fly package which consist of continental breakfast in a bag. As an alternative, we do provide healthy bites at our Refuel grab and go market that you are more than welcomed to purchase. I have made sure that my maintenance supervisor has repaired both the phone and alarm to avoid any future issues with these items. Again thank your review.
