The Hotel Dauphin is just a few minutes from the Jacques Cartier bridge and from the Longueuil Metro station. I would recommend the hotel for someone who wants to park their car and use public transport. Handy if you plan on going to the car races or La Ronde amusement park. It is an easy walk to the Metro to visit Old Montreal, downtown, etc. and parking at the hotel is free. Not too far from Old Longueuil with bars and restaurants and close to a shopping centre. Free wifi and a free-to-use computer in every room. Clean non-smoking rooms and carpet-free. Good self-serve breakfast, including hard boiled eggs and the usual yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, etc. Quick check-in and out. http://www.hoteldauphin.ca/

I stayed here for a few nights in Aug 2011. I chose this hotel because I didn't want to deal with traffic and parking in Montreal. The outside isn't much to look at, but the rooms are quite nice. Rooms were modern and clean. The hotel was full when I stayed there, and I never heard any noise from the other lodgers. The location is great if you are doing anything on the East side of Montreal. Cheaper than staying in town. Free Parking. Metro station a 5-10 min walk away. Free computer and internet in the rooms. Free breakfast is fine and fairly typical, nothing special. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends and family.

Not wanting to stay in Montreal because of the traffic, I booked the Le Dauphin in Longueuil. The room had a computer for our use, a refrig and a coffee maker. Even though the room was very near the major road, it was very quiet. Breakfast is an expanded continental reakfast with hard boiled eggs and baked beans with the standard items. The hotel cost was 105 canadian dollars plus 13% tax. Not the cheapest hotel to stay in, but very nice facilities.

The Metro is about a 10 min. walk away. We took it to see Old Montreal and it was a very easy trip.

The town is a very nice small town with many restuarants close by the hotel. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful.

The Hotel is an excellent value and nice class comparing to downtown Montreal hotels. It's only 5 minutes walk to metro and parking is free. So we parked the car the whole three days and bought a 3 day metro pass ($16).

The hotel front desk is friendly, helpful and bilingual.

Our room has a fridge and a computer, so I do not even have to use my own laptop. The room has wood floor so might be a little bit strange for someone used to carpet. It is very clean.

The free breakfast does not have much choice, but it is adequate.

No pool in the hotel.

One thing to note about the metro pass is that it can also be used for the city's STM Bus. However, the Bus runs infrequently so you should stick with metro in most travels and only use Bus as connecting service.
