I arrived there without a reservation in a terrible snow storm. The front desk was fabulous and found me a room.
The staff and the hotel are superior to any place I have ever stayed. They are efficient and courteous and get to know you by name.
The rooms are spotless and spacious.
This is the only place I stay when on business to Montreal area.
They have the best breakfast I have ever seen included, there is a business center and off the lobby is a huge sitting room with large television.

I've never stayed at a Hampton before, but I certainly will again! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and happy to help with tourist information. I loved the lobby which was fairly spacious but still felt cozy. The continental breakfast was the best we've had at any hotel. The food selection was great as well as the cleanliness and presentation of it. The only drawback was the distance to the old Montreal city area especially due to the heavy traffic. Of the 5 hotels we stayed at during our travels through Canada this was definitely one of the best.

While visiting Montreal I decided to stay outside the island so as to avoid high parking charges and high hotel prices. I chose a hotel at Laval following the advice at the Montreal forum. The Hampton Suites hotel was reasonably priced and was given good reviews.
My room was nice. Although it was located on the side of the street, perhaps because I stayed on the weekend, it was quiet enough at night so as not to prevent my sleep.
The mattress and pillows were comfortable enough so as not to impair my sleep.
The staff was helpful in providing advice and information. They gave me directions to the Montmorency metro station, where I parked my car for the entire day and used the public transportation in town.
Breakfast was reasonable, nothing special.

Our second stay here in the past 6 months and the only complaint I have is the plastic breakfast eggs! 6 months later I'm still trying to figure out how they make these round disks with white on the outside and yellow on the inside! Must be a lesson from McDonald!
The complimentary breakfast and free parking a definite plus. They have wonderful staff at the breakfast room, things do run out but they're quick to replenish upon request. If you're running late or too early for breakfast, they have breakfast to go in a brown bag at the front desk (apple, granola bar, muffin and bottled water).
The rooms, we had two next to each other. The 3 kids had a suite (king and pull out bed) while we stayed in a king bed room. The suite has a bar sink, fridge and microwave oven which we don't, popcorn was also provided for the suite but it was never replenished. Minor details. The hotel is clean, service is great and priced right. The drive into Montreal isn't that long but there's now park & ride at the subway station into Montreal downtown as well.
The only question remains, how do they make the plastic frisbee eggs?
