“Great customized service”

While in Charlottetown on business, I recently stayed at the Fairholm National Historic Inn. This was not my first visit to this establishment, and once again I was thoroughly impressed with the service provided and the quality of my room. There was even a gas stove to further enhance the cozy environment. The innkeeper, Erin, was extremely attentive to my needs and actually customized the breakfast planning (excellent frittata!) to accommodate my scheduled early morning meeting. Look forward to my next trip to the Island and stay at the Fairholm!

“Magnificiently restored Historic Home”

Fairholm National Historic Inn is a beautifully restored and maintained historic home in Charlottetown. Each room has it's own unique character and appointments. So many nice touches that it is hard to remember them all. We were upgraded to a large king suite on the second floor that was just lovely and quite spacious. There is a small sitting area in an upstairs alcove that has a small guest refrigerator as well as an ice maker complete with upscale wine chiller/ice bucket that is a very nice touch. The inkeeper,
Erin, is a delight. She is also a chef and prepares the beautiful breakfast. Would definately return to the inn.

“A true gem”

My wife and I stayed at the Fairholm towards the end of August. What a treat. Our room was truly elegant. Upon entering we were greeted by an exposed brick archway that divided our room into two levels. A foyer/landing and a bathroom were situated on the top level while a bed and a spacious yet quaint sitting area were located a couple of steps below. Simply charming.

We didn't find any problem with the proximity to downtown (a 4 minute walk at best) and the street noise wasn't too bad at night although we did hear a few loud trucks rumble by in the early morning. This was not a major issue though.

Our breakfast was fantastic. The choice was blueberry pancakes or eggs benedict made with salmon. My wife had the former and I had the latter. Both dishes were excellent. Our quaint little two-top in front of the bay window added to the marvelous ambience.

Erin, the innkeeper was very nice....and a great cook. We hardly saw her which was fine by us. It's not to say that she wasn't available , it was just nice not to have somebody hovering over us 24/7 as we've unfortunately experienced at other places. The Fairholm had a laid-back feel which made us feel most welcome. Kudos to Judy as well who was always pleasant and helpful.

We would easily recommend this gem to any of our friends. As for us, we'll certainly be back someday. My wife is already clammering for a Cows ice-cream cone so I guess our return is inevitable.

“The Royal Treatment at a Bed and Breakfast”

From the first inquiry to knocking on the door to the first night and the first breakfast, one can experience the kindness and elegance that one imagines the royal family experiences in their travels. Not only was the Fairholm a beautiful structure but also the furnishings and special touches made the experience one to remember. Thanks to Judy and Erin for engaging with us and making us feel welcome.

“Absolutely Fantastic!!!”

My wife and I stumbled upon the Fairholm by accident when some other plans fell through, Erin the innkeeper was a warm and welcome sight who showed us a wonderful room at the last minute. We ended up extending our stay an additional night because everything was just wonderful here. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating and were always available. The breakfasts were by far the best we've ever had at a B&B and I was thrilled when I walked away with a new recipe to add to my book as well. The rooms were also just great, well appointed and restored with a nice mix of modern amenities and historic furniture. I can't say enough good things about Fairholm and the people there. If you're planning a trip to Charlottetown, plan a stay at the Fairholm Inn, you won't regret it!
