I stayed here recently for a conference. Room has antique furniture in keeping with the historical building. Usually wireless in places like this are slow but this one was surprisingly fast. Nice desk and comfortable wingback armchairs. Modern flatscreen plasma seems out of place but appreciated. The channels are not intuitive and there is no guide feature. The bed was strangely soft, so much so that I sunk right into the bed. The bathroom lighting has to be left on for several minutes to be bright enough to do anything in. Roomy closets. Conference room kind of cozy but suited our needs. Food decent. Walking distance to downtown mall and the ocean.

We stayed here because the hotel we had booked lost our reservations and recommended the Rodd. I'm glad they did. They had a fruit basket at the desk that was empty the whole time we were there, but it has a nice quiet atmosphere and is near a beautiful park. The rooms are more kindly described as classic than obsolete. Ours was well-appointed and comfortable, but so cramped as to be inconvenient. The fixtures are dated. They were surely luxurious circa 1930, but the addition of a TV and modern amenities takes up more space than there is to spare. I can't comment on the restaurant as it appeared to be closing so we ate in the bar. The food was good enough to be memorable and the server was outstandingly efficient and friendly. All in all, this is a classically nice and quiet hotel for people who like atmosphere more than modern convenience and enjoy being treated as guests.

This is a gem of a hotel in the old tradition.

Beautiful building and well located. It is somewhat outdated but the services are good and the price which is very reasonable reflects the age o f the property. It was built as one of the great railway hotels and remains the best deal in Charlottetown.

Rodd is a nice hotel in a convenient DT location. It's a block from shopping, theater, and nightlife and just a few blocks from the water front. The hotel is pet friendly (and you can leave them unattended!) and is situated across the street from a lovely park. The hotel is historic feeling with modern amenities. Be sure to make plans in advance to see the dinner theater show!
