“comfort and convenience”

I am a regular visitor to Charlottetown and most often will choose the Quality Inn on the Hill.
The room during my last visit was large and comfortable. The location is excellent because it is a short walk to all areas of the downtown.
There is not much to choose from in the hotel when it comes to dining however there are numerous bars, pubs and restaurants in the area.

“Pricey for what you get”

Nothing wrong with this property at all. Main building is old and in need of renovations. Two "annexes" at the rear of the property are restored and renovated guest houses with nice decor and setting. This is where we stayed. Overall the room was quite nice. Most furnishings and appliances were quite new and serviceable.

There is a restaurant on site, however this hotel deviates from other Quality Inn franchises and discontinues the continental breakfast in the morning during the tourist season (May-Sept.).

WiFi is free and works well. Two flat screen TV's, but one remote.

Overall a clean and nice place to stay. But in relation to similar properties and comparable services and features, I would say the value is below par.

“The MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

Quality Inn On The Hill literally has the best and most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We stayed in an efficiency suite that was absolutely immaculate and very large. It had a full size fridge, microwave, sink and all accessories (plates, cups, knives/forks, etc.) It was also centrally located and we were able to walk to the waterfront/pier and to all restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to PEI.
They do have to fix their keycards though - they kept deactivating and we would have to go to Main Reception to have them reactivated.

“This Quality Inn was a Low Quality Inn”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

We were completely disappointed with this property. Booked it close to our arrival date. We were attending the Cavendish Beach Music Festival. The photograph did not represent the actual accomodations which cost over $300 for one night. We booked 2 nights. The front desk was unoccupied. A few minutes later the front desk person arrived after walking past us to deliver something to the restaurant. She later on delivered the rollaway bed to us.We were wondering if she was the only employee operating this hotel. Its a tired , worn out and dated property. The room was stuffy and smelly. It was during the East coast heatwave and it took a long time for the room to cool down. The bathroom was a hodge podge of newer fixtures. The rest was old, worn out upholstered furniture with cigarette burns. There was some very odd electrical wiring exposed in the bedroom. The kingsized bed was hard as a rock and the bed linens looked clean but had the smelly room smell. We needed a rollaway bed which was more comfortable than the bed! There was a tiny efficiency unit of a coffee maker, sink, cabinet, microwave. I couldnt imagine even using it.After an uncomfortable night of tossing and turning we couldnt wait to leave. The hallway was like a sauna no A/C and it smelled along with the lobby smell. We canceled the next night and found an exquisite bed and breakfast approx. 2 blocks away. Not cheap but well worth the price, for beautiful, comfortable accomodations and a delicious breakfast.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

My partner and I recently stayed at the Quality Inn in Charlottetown. When we made our reservation, directly with the hotel, the service was very prompt. We received exactly what the person making the reservation told us we would. When we arrived, we were checked in by a very efficient, pleasant front desk agent. We stayed in the Holland Grove House, which is located next to the main building. This victorian home has been restored into very beautiful rooms. Our room had one king bed, fireplace, and an old fashion claw tub. The room also had hardwood floors which was lovely. The hotel was located in the downtown core of Charlottetown so we could walk around the area with no problems. We went to a local restaurant that was very busy but ok service. Overall we had a great experience and would go back to this hotel...
