I stayed here in late August. My main criticism of this hotel is the lack of air conditioning in the common areas. My first room was in the top floor. I had to keep the air conditioner on all night, since the hallway was so overly hot from the day that it effectively heated our room all night. Also, the room I was given, though very presentable and quaint, was small and cramped. Like any good hotel guest I requested a new room the next day. The receptionist, who was very helpful and professional, offered me the King Suite for only $25 more than I was paying. I accepted and henceforth proceeded with the absolute highlight of my 7-hotel Eastern Canada vacation. I cannot say enough good things about the King Suite (#44 I think). It had three massive rooms: one tv room, bedroom, and bathroom. The bathroom was the best I think. It had a shower AND a two-person hot tub. The Aveda soap collection suited that bathroom perfectly. My first and second nights were, well, night and day. Despite the problems with my first room, the fact that the staff stepped up to the plate makes me want to recommend this hotel without reservation, and makes me wonder if all these people who have complained made their concerns known to the staff while they were there.
