“Will not be back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011 via mobile

I did not prebook a room because we wanted to see it first ,and when I asked I was told NO I could not preview the room..in all our travels this has never happened most hotels are happy to show their rooms .We needed a room so we took one on the 19 th floor. The elevator was noisy and slow, when we arrived on the 19 th floor we were greeted with a very musky, moldy smell and carpeting that was old and stained. The entrance to the room was claustrophobic , the toilet paper is so close to the toilet you have to sit a bit sideways so your arm is not hitting the roll, the carpeting was old and stained. The furniture should have been donated to a thrift store many years ago.
The good news is that the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Not only would I not recommend this hotel to a friend I would not recommend it to an enemy.

“Location,location,location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We are residents of the Windsor area, but wanted a night out to visit our lively downtown area. This hotel had a $75 per night "Groupon" special and is very centrally located within walking distance to all downtown attractions like Caesar's of Windsor, numerous restaurant's and bars and a short drive to the Detroit Tunnel. Many more excellent restaurants are located on Erie Street, just a short cab ride away. Hotel is located next door to the Hilton and Riverside rooms provide an excellent view of the Detroit skyline, but make certain that you request a Riverside room as not all rooms overlook the river. This may cost an extra $20 to $30 depending on date of arrival. Parking is only $10 with in and out privileges and conveniently located just behind the hotel.
Check in was smooth and easy and the staff was very polite. Hotel seems to be popular for travelling sports teams and other groups, but was still very quiet.
The room came with an excellent buffet breakfast, that at this time was actually at the Hilton Hotel next door, however, you did not have to go outside to get there.
The only reason I did not rate this hotel higher was because, as others have mentioned, it does need to be updated, and may in fact be in the process of doing so-just ask for an updated room if available. Hotel is a good alternative to the Hilton if price is a factor.

Room Tip: Ask for a Riverside Room and if breakfast is included. Depending on time of year and events in the c...

“New Name Same Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

This Hotel was formally a Radisson property but changed names. Fortunately the great staff has remained. I use this place for my business travels and have always been very happy with the place. Anytime something was amiss which didn't happen often it was attended to immediately. The riverview rooms are wonderful. Say what you will about Detroit but it has a great skyline and Windsor's waterfront is equally appealing.
The hotel shares a restaurant with the adjoining Hilton which I find very convenient.
The hotel is generally fairly quiet and the beds comfortable. Clean and comfortable about sums it up.

Room Tip: Get a riverfront if you possibly can.

“Quiet night's sleep, courteous staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Stayed here one night for business in October 2011. Check-in was quick and hassle free. Make sure you ask for the AAA discounted rate, parking $10. I had a minor issue in the room which was rectified immediately. The room was very clean, and the bed comfortable. This property used to a radisson, and some signage is still visible - specially from the parking lot which is across the street but adjoined by a covered walkway. This did not bother me. The pool has a view of the Detroit skyline and was great Its located a right downtown, within walking distance of Caesar's and many restaurants. The property is in need of some renovation, but as I said the room was very clean including carpets. Good value for the money. I would stay here again.

“Beautiful views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I found this hotel clean and quiet. The river views were very beautiful and the breakfast buffet was very good.

Room Tip: choose riverview and on the upper levels
