Traveling to be with family for a funeral. Hotel was in great location for all of our needs and it meant that we did not add another burden for family members by staying with them. Hotel was very good deal!!! King sized bed and a hot breakfast, all for $85 + taxes.
Our breakfast was self served in a room beside the reception, included a selection of hot cooked sausages and scrambled eggs, choice of cereals, fruit salad, toast, coffee and juices. Our hotel room was a clean, well appointed and elegant even though was a little dated. Had a fridge and coffee maker, large wall mounted TV, desk/office type chair + free Wi Fi, hairdryer and phone in bathroom. I liked the glass panes in bathroom door as allowed a nightlight glow from the hairdryer plug into our room. Overall room was on the smaller size but was very functional and more than adequate for our purposes.
Hotel is very accessible form Highway 401, 400 and #27. Is in an ideal location for the Woodbine racetrack as its literally across the road. Also really close to the Pearson International Airport and by car to a lot of excellent shopping opportunities including the Yorkdale and Vaughn Mills malls within 20 -25 mins.
The things that I did not like:
1) hotel is a part of a very large function suite complex so you do have to drive around the complex to find the hotel entrance
2) the pillows are extremely small & actually cushion sized.
3) biggest issue for me was that our room was interior facing and had a large stand alone air conditioning unit that looked like a small fridge. It was very loud and sounded a lot like a large industrial fan. It was much louder than any window air conditioner I have experienced. It made it hard to sleep - so ear plugs would have helped. We chose to put up with the noise since we could not open a window.
I have rated the hotel as 'very good' since: the value was excellent overall for a room & breakfast for 2! We will stay again but next time I will bring my own pillows and ear plugs.
