This was hands-down the best hostel experience we've ever had. Our host was very helpful, gracious and friendly. We had a room on the second floor of the house, and it was very clean, with a beautiful bedspread and lighting that even had dimmers (nice touch). So much classier than most hostel rooms with cheap flourescent fixtures. A big bathroom complete with jacuzzi tub was right outside our door.
The whole place is a restored Victorian house, with warm wood throughout and old-fashioned curved glass in some of the windows. See photo of staircase.
The hostel kitchen was amazing, huge and so nicely appointed (see photo).
A computer was available for travelers without laptops; we had our own and the wifi worked great throughout the house.
Even though the house was only a few hundred feet from all the shopping on Parliament Street, it was very quiet at the house and we slept like logs.
All in all, it was a wonderful stay. Highly recommend!
