We are frequent visitors to Toronto for business combined with pleasure. This trip we decided to try a bed and breakfast. When I saw our room with a large canopy bed and fireplace and a huge bay window I just wanted to stay and relax after our long drive. My husband needed to eat and our host had recommended several places to dine, the closest being an English pub which turned out to be excellent, with a huge choice of menu for all sizes of appeties and tastes and fun service. For dinner the other two nights we went to the local French Bistro just a block away. Again excellent food with a great atmosphere. On our last night we indulged ourselves in their wine cellar as it was only a short walk back to the bed and breakfast and not have to worry about driving after a few glasses. We had parked our car for the duration of our stay, across from the house, a bargain at $10 per day with unlimited in and out priveliges.
We took great advantage of the guest kitchen. My husband likes his first coffee of the morning at 5.30 am and his breakfast at 8 am. The host set up the coffee for 5.30 am so my husband was happy and nobody else was disturbed.
The breakfast was delicious. The fresh croissants are hot out of the oven and with the home made whiskey marmalade it is just the thing to get one started in the morning.
While my husband attended to business I was free to shop in the fab boutiques in Yorkville. Many of the guests we met were regular visitors who had made the house their base when in Toronto while on business or for the Arts. With my husbands new work which involves a lot of travel I look forward to our next stay at the Admiral Saint George.
