“Fabulous and lovely!”

Firstly, I feel terrible that I am only just getting my review on here for this B&B as I stayed here in April 2009!! Sorry Ted.

I had a fabulous time here. I stayed in Room Three with the exposed brick wall, and from my window I could see the CN Tower and the bright lights of Toronto. The bed was very comfy and the room nice and clean. The resident cat OC was friendly but not intrusive, and the computer downstairs was really handy for catching up with emails and family.

Ted made me the most amazing breakfasts every day! I never knew what to expect, but each meal was wonderful and certainly set me up for my travels :O) Ted was a star on my last day and drove me to the train station for no extra charge, which was greatly appreciated as I was a woman travelling alone.

The neighbourhood was a little intimidating at first, but only because I was on my own and not sure of my directions. It was my first ever solo trip, but I found a great bar nearby one night (The Ben Wicks) where the landlord dragged me out of my corner and made me talk to him about England! The location was actually great – I did a LOT of walking and didn’t use a taxi once (except on arrival from the airport). it was an easy straight forward 15 minute walk to Yonge Street.

I can’t thank Ted enough for his hospitality, his wonderful food and his homely and comfortable place! If I ever make it back to Toronto, and I hope I do, this place is first on my list!

“Very Eclectic”

First impression is not great, but don't let that influence you. The accommodations were great and within walking distance to downtown Toronto. Private off street parking is provided.

The B&B is located in an area they refer to as Cabbage Town, why I'm not sure. I think it is because it is an old neighborhood. We found it very safe and never felt uncomfortable.

“Very comfortable and enjoyable stay”

Firstly, Ted and Nick are extremely welcoming hosts. They do everything possible to make you enjoy your stay and it was a delight spending breakfast talking to them and other guests. If you want a breakfast where you can sit quietly on you own this may not be for you as you will be sharing a table with the other guests.

We stayed in room 4 which is a double with shared bathroom. The bathroom is not far from the room and robes are provided to get between the two. The bathroom is only shared with one other room and we didn’t see them use it the 4 nights we were there. The room was compact so don’t expect lots of space however there was enough storage.

The location is fair. It is a street car ride or 10 min walk to the College metro station. You feel like you are a little out of the heart of Toronto however you aren't a million miles away. There are some small shops / cafes however mostly you will need to make the 10 min walk back to Yonge St or elsewhere.

“Warm, friendly, adorable home and a great value!”

This was my first time at a B&B, after hotels were packed and super expensive. What a treat. For a great price, I got room 201, a simple room with a queen sized bed, tv, closet with mini fridge, alarm clock, and a shared bathroom with a room down the hall. It was perfect. Ted, the owner, is super accommodating and very friendly! I came and went all hours of the night (I liked the nightlife of the gay village), and felt very safe walking to his home. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful (I had blueberry pancakes, bacon, fruit, and fresh maple syrup). Coffee and tea available all day/night. Most importantly, Ted answered all my questions about getting around Toronto and had maps available. I can't wait to return. What a pleasure!
