“Don't Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

This was the first time in my traveling life I moved accomodations in the middle of the trip. The reasons: noise and the cold and unfriendly, unresponsive landlady.

Noise - this is a duplex and the room we were in, third floor, has a very thin room. It appears the house next door contains students who like to play guitar at 1:00 in the morning until banging in the wall was the only resort to getting some peace and quiet. Even then they continued talking which we could hear quite clearly through the wall.

Unfriendliness & Unresponsiveness - when we arrived the landlady told us that she had sent emails telling us her furnace as on the blink but everything was ok now because it was fixed - she had sent no such emails. We were expected to call and tell her whether we wanted breakfast or not. We called and left a message that we did want breakfast and when we arrived for breakfast the next morning were met with blank stares and no apology or suggestion that she could provide us with breakfast. As there were other guests sitting having breakfast, it was quite embarrassing and the "gallic shrug" really was not appreciated.
We left one of our chargers behind when we checked out a day early but were too disgusted by this woman's unfriendliness that we could not bring ourselves to call to retrieve it. Needless to say she didn't call us.

Also, very weirdly, the shower in the bathroom contained the ends of other peoples' soaps and the remnants of some prior guest's shampoo. Were we expected to use these? If so, gross. If not, then take them away.

My description really does no justice to the coldness of the landlady.

Room Tip: Stay at the Selby Suites down the road.

“Au petit Paris....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

The house is really cute, and the rooms are nice with a very confortable bed.
The bathroom is ok.
There is a cute little patio upstairs with tea and cookies, and also a little terrass(deck) for outside.
It is close to the SubwayStation.
Donc park your car in the street, you'll get a fine really soon. (public parking is close but is not for free).
The only negative point is the owner, she is really cold and not present.

“Comfortable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

My cousin and I stayed here one night. We stayed in the Nomad's Suite. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Michelle cooked a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Banana, blueberry crepes with a variety of breads, fruit, juice, oats and yogurt. The house is within walking distance to the subway (which was very easy to figure out) and overnight parking garage. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Toronto.

“A perfect staying”

I spent a weekend in this lovely B&B and found it very good, both for the position (very closed to the town centre, that I reached by feet and to the metro station) and for the cleaness of the room. The bathroom was big and every furniture chosen with taste and a romantic spirit. The breakfast at the upper floor was very tasteful (Michelle is a very good cooker!). I really recommend this place to whomever wishes to visit Toronto without spending a lot of money and wishing to be free, feeling at home.

“Great, small B&B in Toronto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011 via mobile

I was only here for two nights, but it was a nice experience. The bathroom in my room was very small but the room itself was a good size. Breakfast is upstairs and essentially there seemed to be one choice - what was being cooked that particular day - but both mornings it was delicious.
