The rooms were beautiful, modern, well equipped, although the hotel is a Victorian mansion. The location close to the subway was very convenient. The breakfast was a little disorganized -- seemed to be short staffed. Really enjoyed our stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night on Nov 23, 2011. There are two options of rooms, the updated ones (very nice, European feel) and the older rooms (still clean and large). We opted for the cheaper room at $71.99 with my CAA discount - quite a good rate for close to Yonge and Bloor and right near the subway. The room was on the lower level with light from a light shaft into a sun room next to it, but at least it was quite quiet. The continental breakfast was nothing exciting but sufficient. Parking was an additional $17 but they did let me leave the vehicle until 2 the next day. Front desk staff were all polite and efficient.

I'd consider staying there again but would not go out of my way. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was lovely. The hairdryer did not work.

The hotel is historic and therefore has old-building character. It is not good for anybody who has mobility problems- I was on the fourth and although I didn't search for any elevators, there were none obvious and the front desk clerk did not tell me of any. I only stayed one night and wasn't there for long.

The man at the front desk was brisk & perfunctory but it may have been because I was giving off the vibe of "I'm tired and just want my room". The man in the morning was friendlier but very busy. The phone kept ringing. He apologized to me for the interruptions and was polite to the people he put on hold.

Friendly hotel, large beds, spacious rooms, helpful staff, free use of computer and local telephone, excellent location
