“Front Desk Amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Hotel was clean , comfortable and quiet. We experienced no problems with noise from the airport. There was a small problem with the lock on our room door and it was fixed immediately. I would suggest that 2 comfortable chairs in the room would be much appreciated. One person having to sit on the bed is not the best arrangement. A visit to the bar was very disappointing. The staff seemed to find older women invisible even though men in the party received excellent service. The result was a self-fulfilling prophecy. We didn't eat or drink much and certainly didn't tip well! (The only way for the ladies to get a drink was to go to the bar and there at you could eventually be noticed and served.) We were there for a conference and our breakfast, breaks and lunch were included. Breakfast was very good, lunch had some strange combinations of food. Neither meal was particularly warm.

“Great hotel if flying the next day”

Great place to stay, flights fly directly over this hotel so can be a little noisy. Shuttle to the airport is very handy. Bar is very quiet a night, resturant has a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Staff very pleasant.

Dear Denisebain, thank you for your review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and although we are in close proximity to the airport we are happy to say we are not in a direct flight path which certainly helps. Our Full Breakfast Buffet is always a hit and we hope to welcome you again in the near future to the Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Airport. Thank you for staying with us!

“Second stay was again not up to par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

I generally try to stay with Marriott branded hotels and as such have been Platinum with Marriott for a while. I had stayed at this hotel on a prior occasion and had a horrible stay. Like some other people on this board I never received my wake-up call. Being an airport hotel I would think it would be one of the most important things they have to take care of. (I usually set my cell phone alarm but had a battery failure).

Anyway - dedided to give these guys a try again. Checked in the evening of Nov 7th. A gentleman completed my check-in. He seemed quite distracted. He asked me on three seperate occasions if I wanted points or gift for my Platinum Arrival gift. He gave me the key to my room and I headed to the elevator. Unfortunately the room number he wrote on the key does not even exist (that floor does not even exist). So I headed back downstairs and went to the front desk. This time a nice woman served me. Apologized and wrote a different room number on the card packet. I headed back to the elevator. Got to the room and the key didn't work. As a frequent traveller who travels over 175 nights a year there is nothing that is more annoying then getting to your room and the key does not work. Especially when you are lugging around bags, etc. So I again go back downstairs and tell the woman the key does not work. She says "Oh - looks like he didn't program the key right... sorry". She gives me a new key and a maintenance person who was watching offered to come up to my room to make sure it worked this time. Very nice of him. Finally got into the room.

Room quality is still not up to par with other Courtyward hotels. The beds are very hard, rooms are dated.

Nice pro - They offer free parking for Marriott Platinum Elite Guests (I think this is a great gesture and unfortunately it's not common among very many Marriott hotels; however, the full service Toronto Airport Marriott also offers this)

Looking at the reviews there are some people who have for sure had a great stay... unfortunately for me 2 strikes and I generally won't go back. The first incident of the wake-up call failure was bad. Then having to make 3 trips to try and get in my room late at night... they need to get some policies in place at the front desk to ensure these types of issues don't happen.

Dear Mr. Hanlon, I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your keycard upon check-in and will review with my team. We are excited that in 2012 we will see a new lobby and restaurant area along with renovations to our guest rooms. We do offer a comfortable "pillow top" mattress in all of our guest rooms for added comfort and I am sorry to hear it was not to your liking.
We certainly hope you will choose to stay with us again and if so please feel free to contact me directly as I would be more than happy to make your reservation and have myself or our guest services manager handle your check-in ourselves.

Kind Regards
