Having just returned from an 8 night stay at this property, i was quite underwhelmed especially as an SPG Platinum guest.
Since the hotel was converted 2 years ago from a Renaissance to a Sheraton, the common areas have received a great facelift and are very nice by Sheraton standard.
The room is OK with a new carpet and updated furniture but the bathrooms are terrible having received no more than a coat of paint AT BEST. There is rust through the grout lines in the shower, layers of paint on an old door, archaic faucets and counter space, hair stuck to the ceiling etc...
I had a big issue with no in room WIFI in 2012, no in room safe and no minibar/fridge. Regardless of whether or not the hotel is privately owned and only operating as a Sheraton, should there not be some sort of "standard" that all hotels under the banner must follow? I felt that I was terribly inconvenienced by the above.
There is a pool at the hotel with enough of a chlorine smell to not go inside. My associate took the risk and had to wash his eyes after getting out with the emergency wash to alleviate the burning and dryness.
Bottom line, the hotel is acceptable, but don't expect anything special near the airport. The company that owns this property also owns the Westin Bristol Place across the street, with the same lobby rebranding they did at this Sheraton but there from the previous Wyndham. Same old rooms, same story, different address.
Room Tip: They are all the same....

Dear seekay03,
Thank you for the constructive feedback. The conditions of the bathroom you describe is definitely unacceptable and I do apologise.
Although our team visits every room in the Hotel on a semi-annual basis to conduct preventive maintenance; apparently your room must have been missed (and maybe missed on a few rotations).
Regarding our pool… I don’t know exactly when you visited our Hotel; but wanted to let you know that as of Jan 1st we converted our pool to a Salt Water one; so thankfully gone are the days of chlorine smell.
Although we have free for guests WIFI in the Lobby and Restaurant areas and on a few guestroom floors... I definitely agree that all Hotels should have WIFI throughout in this day and age. On a positive for future visits we're just weeks away from introducing a new, complete coverage and stronger than typical Hotel's bandwidth service. This project has been in the works for awhile and implementation date is almost here.
Additionally, Although we're both under Starwood flags... wanted to explain that our Hotel ownership / management company has nothing to do with the Westin Bristol Place.
I would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss your stay if you would be so kind. Please feel free to call at your convenience.
Regards and hopefully we might have another chance in showing you what this Hotel is really capable of offering.
